Well, these foods are not only delicious but also promote sleep.
Bread – breads are rich in complex carbohydrates which produce a mild sleep-enhancing effect due to the increase of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep.
Warm Milk – a glass of warm milk is one of the good old ways that provide a remedy for sleeplessness. Milk contains tryptophan, which later is converted in serotonin and thereby promotes sleep and prevents waking.
Lettuce – there is an opium-related substance in lettuce and hyoscyarnin. For years, Lettuce has been used by many to promote sleep. If you are suffering from sleep disorders, lettuce should be a regular part of your dinner.
Other foods such as legumes, nuts, nutritional yeast, poultry products, and fish contain Niacin (Vitamin B3), which is involved in Serotonin production. Thereby, promotes sleep.
So if you plan to get some good night sleep, serve these foods along with your favorite meals.
