Foods That Interfere with Digestion

Some foods can cause digestive problems. To avoid problems in your digestive system, try to avoid some of the following foods.

High fat and fried foods
Both of these foods can aggravate the stomach, leading to acid reflux and heartburn. High-fat foods also cause pale stools, or commonly known as steatorrhea.

milk
The body needs calcium for bones. However, you can get calcium from other dairy products, like cheese. For those who are intolerant to lactose (lactose intolerance), milk can cause diarrhea, stomach full of gas, and bloating and cramping.

chili powder
All spicy foods irritate the esophagus and cause stomach pains. Spicy food should also be avoided for people with irritable bowel syndrome or those who suffer from chronic gastritis.

Corn contains cellulose, a type of fiber that can not be digested easily. If you still want to eat the corn, try to chew longer. If it is not perfect chew, can cause abdominal pain and stomach full of gas.

Coffee, tea and soft drinks
Coffee, tea and soft drinks not only improves gastric acid but also acts as a diuretic which can cause diarrhea and stomach cramps.
