MOSCOW – Russia’s Health Ministry officials accused Georgia waging biological warfare to send swine flu virus into Russia. The pigs on farms infected with the Russians reported the virus.

“Georgia became the source of African Swine flu virus spreading, they spread the virus to southern Russia, Krasnodar, and killed millions of pigs in Russia. Spread of this outbreak is indeed a thing created by Georgia and aimed at damaging the Russian economy,” said ministry official health Russia Gennady Onishchenko, told RIA Novosti on Tuesday (04/10/2012).

Center for Disease Outbreaks in the United States (U.S.) said, African Swine Flu Virus is a highly lethal virus and become one of the most feared by the owners of pig farms.

The effect of the virus was indeed proven to be very devastating. Virtually no vaccine and no treatment that can be used to ward off the deadly virus. However, the virus will not infect humans.

The issue of the spread of African swine flu virus had emerged in the Cold War era, in which the U.S. has a feud with Cuban. The virus was also one of the biological weapons to obstruct and destroy the economy of a country.

These allegations are often colored bilateral relations of Russia and Georgia. Georgia which was once the former Soviet Union, was dragged to war with Russia in 2008. Although the conflict has ended, tensions still arise between the two countries.
