Heartfelt Strides for a Healthy Heart
It’s time you should be thankful to your heart because your heart works for you even while you are sleeping. Its contribution to your health is significant and here are some simple and easy to follow tips you need to enhance the health state of your heart.
Do you know that your heart circulates about 5 liters of blood in a day transporting nutrients and oxygen via a 97,000 km long network of blood vessels linking together the cells of your organs and body parts? Don’t you think this is a painstaking task for a fist-sized heart? It’s time you should be thankful to your heart because your heart works for you even you are sleeping. Its contribution to your health is significant and here are some simple and easy to follow tips you need to enhance the health state of your heart.
Having Sex Can Be Heart Healthy
According to American journal of cardiology, a man who made love at least two times a week were much less likely to have heart disease than those who only have sexual intercourse once a month or less. Due to the emotional and physical effects on the body, having sex can be heart healthy.
Ease the Stress
Under stress, your blood pressure is more likely to go up. When you are stressed you may exercise less, overeat, and worst still, you may take large amounts of alcohol and smoke causing a vicious cycle if you do not know when to stop. Chronic stress, for example, can lead to hormonal stress, that is when your cortisol and adrenaline change the way the blood clots increasing your risk of heart attack. To cope with your stress, take time out for praying, meditation or doing yoga, or be positive by staying connected with your family and friends to help you relax. This way, you will see life from a different aspect.
Go For Nuts
Scientific research shows that eating at least 1.5 ounces of nuts a day can help reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) as well as reduce the risk of heart disease. Furthermore, polysaturated fats found in most seeds and nuts are great choice diet for healthy heart. Pecans, almonds, walnuts, and other tree nuts pack nutritional nutrient for a healthy heart.
Cut Down Your Salt Intake
Many studies have shown that much of our salt intake originates from outside food, processed food, fast food, and even canned food. So, if you are going to have these foods limit the number. Keep an eye on mock meats as they are full of coloring, MSG and preservatives. Slow down your salt intake. Do not wait till you are diagnosed with high blood pressure (hypertension) or other heart related illnesses prior to cutting down the salt intake from your daily menu.
