Sinusitis can be very painful but how can you be sure it isn’t just a cold? Symptoms of sinusitis include facial pain and pressure, thick greenish discharge, pain behind the eyes and even pain in the upper teeth. If you have any of these symptoms there are ways to get some relief. Using any hot or spicy condiment will bring relief faster than a decongestant. Some great ones to try are hot salsa, horseradish, wasabi or chili sauce. Consuming 2 tsp twice a day is sure to bring relief.

You can also try clearing the blockage with a saline solution. Simply mix 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp baking powder and 1 cup of distilled water. Ingest in each nostril to bring almost instant relief. The same relief can be brought on be taking a steaming hot shower.

A tasty way to alleviate sinus pain and pressure is by consuming pineapple. It contains bromelain and acts as an anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling in nasal passages. Don’t care for the tasty fruit, you can also consume a bromelain supplement. A good thing to avoid is alcohol. It causes the membranes to swell making pain and pressure worse.

A good foot massage will help to stimulate blood and oxygen flow to the sinuses, reducing congestion. You can get quick results by massaging each foot for five minutes twice a day.
