Influenza

Symptoms of influenza include:

• chills
• fever
• sore throat
• muscle pain
• headaches
• coughing

Influenza can cause pnoumonia in very severe cases. This is rare but when it does happen it is common in the elderly and young people. The common cold can often be mistaken for flu however flu is far more serious than the common cold and can caude nausea and vomitting.

Treatment involves getting plenty of rest and making sure you stay hydrated by drinking lots of fluids. Doctors can provide medicine for flu however most people find just taking paracetemol helps. Asprin is not advised as it can cause another rare illness to develop.
