My Cure for Insomnia
Not being able to sleep happens not because of too much work or because you are not tired enough, but because you are not respecting your bio-clock.
Every person has a biological clock that has it’s own time and you cannot change it. It’s no a clock you can speed up or make it late. It’s in your nature.
Insomnia is probably the problem number one in America related to psychological diseases. Some doctors say this is not a disease, but the reality is you die faster because of lack of sleep than you die from lack of food. I bet you didn’t know this. You can live up to several weeks without food because your body is used to live without food when your ancestors had a hard time to find it. But with no sleep… that is another thing. The world record is just twelve days… with several disabilities such as irritation, lack of concentration, stupidity such as “I forgot how to count”… and worse.
How to obey your bio clock? If you are an internet worker like me, you can work any day of the week, any hour of the day, so just let your own body tell you the right time. Most of the times you won’t like this time, but it’s the time your body sleeps the best, otherwise your body would pick another time.
My time is from 7.AM to 12.AM. This is not good for my family because they need to go to school and to their works, but I can write this at night (it’s exactly 5.24 AM in my country, Portugal) so just let your body tell you the best time.
Why this works? I never have to make myself fall asleep in this hour, it just happens naturally, I want to write more for you, but I can’t. My brain shuts down and I cannot even remember what I am doing and how to write…
I do not need an alarm to get up, my body at the same time everyday knows the right hour.

Some pepole are lucky to have jobs that allow them to work with their biological clock; but most people don’t which is a shame because you always pay a price when you work agaisnt nature.
