People Living on Hiv and Aids: Can We Trust Them to Get a Cure?
At one time I was one of them. I used to make a living on HIV and AIDS but my conscience wouldn’t allow it to go on for long. Now we have millions of people living on HIV and AIDS, they are either researching, counseling or taking care of AIDS victims. Can we trust these people to get a cure or a vaccine for AIDS? Of course not! How can they shoot themselves in the foot and win the marathon?
You probably know some of them. They have made HIV and AIDS the sole source of their income. Some are researchers into an HIV vaccine; others are home based care givers while the majority are teachers on behavior change, telling us what we can do to keep the virus at bay or if we are already infected, how we can live a healthy lifestyle.
There are millions of them out there. They are not living with HIV and AIDS; they are living on HIV and AIDS. They depend on this infection so much that they curse the day a cure will be found. They are leeches that make lots of money on HIV and AIDS, they have every reason to stop any vaccine that could cure or prevent HIV and AIDS!

Should we trust pharmaceutical companies and the researchers they fund to get a cure or a vaccine against HIV and AIDS? I don’t trust them to announce a major breakthrough that will make them jobless the next minute. They must remain at it for as long as they can until a chance intervention by nature itself saves the millions of suffering patients out there.
How else do you explain the fact that AIDS has been with us for more than two decades when the likes of Robert Koch and Edward Jenner, armed with crude equipment and less than the current sophisticated knowledge managed to kick start the end of the dreaded Small pox?
The world has known worse epidemics than HIV. We had small pox, we had polio, we had plague and even measles, but fatalities from these infections were controlled within a reasonable period of time.
With all the money and resources that have been pumped into HIV, one would expect some significant progress after two decades, but then all we have are anti retroviral therapies that must be continuously taken for a lifetime.
Why? It’s because the more we take them, the more the pharmaceutical companies make, for they are living on HIV, they are living on AIDS and will do anything to block a cure! I have been reading mischief in the whole HIV/AIDS research and therapy for a long time. I pity those who for one reason or another got infected. I know it’s a terrible situation to find oneself in, but the truth must be said at times. We can not expect an AIDS cure in the near future.
We can not depend on the current crop of scientists to find a cure or a vaccine that will prevent it from infecting many more millions, and it is for that same reason aforementioned.
We don’t expect them to shoot themselves in the foot and go on to win the marathon, do we? We should not bank so much on them. All they want is the money they make from AIDS research and anti retroviral sales. All they care for is their job security for at the moment, nothing else is as lucrative.
Think of all the research firms that benefit from HIV and AIDS, think of all the non governmental organizations that deal with HIV and AIDS, think of all those pharmaceutical companies that produce anti retroviral, are they so stupid to kill their lucrative businesses for the sake of humanity?
Are you infected? Don’t dream of a cure any time soon. Are you uninfected? Good for you, try to stay safe and never think for a minute that an AIDS vaccine is along the way and therefore you can mess around! Whatever the case, infected or not, we are all affected by HIV and AIDS, except those men and women living on it!

I do believe that their is no disease without cure. AIDS is a disease which comes out when human start unnatural things, infect all diseases begins from unnatural things. AIDS cure is hidden in the things that cause AIDS. Its true man

Excellent article! I believe what you’ve said in this article, and it makes me sad. What an evil world, it amazes me that money means that much to people that they’d rather see a zillion people die instead of giving up 1/2 an acre of their mansions.

The HIV issues is an indictment on our scientists! Th way they keep doing nothing concrete to cure HIV, I am inclined to think there is foul play here,.. they want us all dead.

thanks for sharing this with us, Shilaho. I have no idea about this so far.

Thanks for sharing. I find it horrific that somebody would try to prevent a cure for HIV/AIDS and contine to let people die just so they could get a paycheck.

Interesting article here Leo. I tend to agree to an extent on this issue. I disagree only partially, and that is because the disease itself is very hard to beat. Other diseases that we’ve found vaccines and cures for did not have the same genetic makeup as an HIV cell. The HIV cell changes itself continuously if you put something in the body that will combat it, and the disease changes quickly. Just because some people may have HIV, it does not mean that each person will be cured the same way. Those cells are a basic evolution in over-drive and will adapt quickly to anything given to fight it. They have never found a cure for any virus, and that is the important part as to why we’ve yet to find a cure for the disease. We’ve found ways to make a virus dormant in the body, and vaccines to stop the infection, but never a cure to stop them. We have found ways to stop HIV cells from spreading in the body, and to cause the cells to go dormant again; however, it is still experimental, and has only been tested on the HIV type of disease found in monkeys.
Anyway, back on topic to what I agree with!
I agree with the fact that even if we could somehow find a cure, we would hesitate to distribute it to the patients that need it. When new methods were discovered to combat and stop different types of cancers, they were basically hushed up so that the medical companies would make more money. Greed will always overpower mankind’s humanity; every soul has a price in the eyes of these companies. I find it very sad to see humans acting like this. Very good article mate, and nice viewpoint on the issue.

I hope people blocking the cure (if there is) come to their senses that people’s lives are more important than money. But in reality, money is really powerful. Nice post, friend.

Cruel reality. Leo, you are right, it’s better not to expect a cure. Too much expectation will only lead to greater disappointment.

Interesting point of view. It is ugly when someone makes living off someone’s else’s misery.

As a person living with the HIV disease almost 5 years with all its consequences, ups and downs I truly feel devastated reading this, yes I’m disappointed because even though my retroviral meds had been working perfectly on its unique job ( to keep the virus dormant ) every single day of my life I have to think of the day that finally my meds will not longer be useful or the right one to control it; I do my labs routine every 3 to 6 months to check my viral loads, the psychological torture of thinking that my Tcells are dying again is unbearable so I cry in silence before I know my results.
A simple cold or flu is way more violent on my body than it is to people with neg HIV status, I try to fool myself a little saying that I get sick just as a normal people does, no is not real, even though my Tcells are on a normal level, my weaken immune system does not endure regular diseases as a regular person; I can not afford to be in the ER at least twice a year, the stress on thinking “this is it” every time I get ill is quite painful.
Yes,I’m thankful that I do have the luxury of having meds available for my treatment vs the ones that can not even afford a pain killer to relieve the horrible side effects of the virus attakin your body; however- enough is enough we all humans living with such a terrible disease among other terminal ones deserves not only a treatment to “buy more time” , we deserve a CURE.
Hope, was the first thing that I heard more than 20 years ago when millions all over the world start falling like flies, is time for human kind to hear ITS OVER let’s move on bigger and greater things.
