What should you do if you find someone affected by burns?

This is a pocket guide on first aid on how and what action should be taken to give first aid to someone who is affected by burns.

There are two kinds of burns you can provide first aid, minor burns and extensive burns.

What should you do to someone with a minor burn emergencies are:

1. Clean the wound with lukewarm water.

2. Do not use toothpaste, coffee, butter, or the like to treat burns.

3. Remove rings, necklaces, and all objects that are not important from the patient’s body.

4. Apply an antibiotic ointment on the burns, infections that occur in anticipation of the burn.

5. If the burn is rather deep, and dangerous straight to the doctor immediately. There could be given tetanus vaccinations if needed.

What should you do to someone with extensive burns emergencies are:

1. Remove victim from the fire area. Remember, you also must take into account your own personal safety. So be careful.

2. Clean the victim with a burning material.

3. Call an ambulance or medical team to immediately move the victim to the nearest hospital.

4. Try to keep the victim remained in comfortable circumstances, and do not move much.

5. Clean the burn area with clean gauze, not with a dirty cloth.

6. Do not flush or compresses to burns on the victim with cold water, because VERY DANGEROUS! and can cause hypothermia.
