Probiotics is The New Trend of Foods to Get Nutrition and Help Immunity of Body

One uses anti-biotics to fight against diseases caused by some bacteria. On the other hand probiotics helps us from disease causing bacteria by using bacteria and also gives nutrition for the body. Probiotics are easily available in fermented Indian foods like Idly, Vada, Dosa, Dhokla, etc. and also as supplements/tablets.

There are two types of bacteria or microorganisms in the body. One is the bad bacterium that causes diseases and troubles. The other is the good bacterium that helps the body get nutrition, digest food and keep the gastro-intestinal tracts clean.

The bad bacteria may be causing diarrhea or other diseases which are counted with the use of anti-biotic. These antibiotics also reduce the count of good bacteria. Also excessive drinking, drugs and stress can imbalance the bacteria in the body not only causing diseases but also malnutrition.

To counter that one needs to take to probiotics. Probiotics can be taken in the form of fermented foods such as Indian foods Idly, Vada, Masala Dosa, Set Dosa, Rava Dosa, Dhokla, Curd, Yogurt etc. These have lactobacillus bacterium that is good for the body. One can also consult a doctor and get supplements of probiotics.

Caution is advised for those who have diseases to avoid taking excessive probiotics. Patients with HIV+ also need medical supervision when taking probiotics.

One good thing about probiotics is that almost all south Indians take it every day in their breakfast without the need to know about it. Because our breakfast in our home or any tiffin center is most commonly Idly, Dosa or Vada. Puri and chapatti don’t come under these types of foods. Curd rise does which is taken in the night or noon.
