Regular Exercise is The Best Way to Stay Fit
Over the years exercise has been prescribed as the key ingredient in the recipe of being healthy by almost all doctors. Regular exercise, even at an old age, can add many healthy years to your life. It can keep you fighting fit, until your last days. Extensive researches have proved the fact that a person is never too old to start exercising and even a small amount of exercise per day can lead to a significant increase in the number of years that the person is going to live.
Doctors advise elderly people to walk regularly as walking helps in improving the muscles and increases blood flow and as a result, it refreshes the heart thoroughly. A livelier heart means more years being added to your life. Even if you have bad habits like smoking or if you suffer from blood pressure, then also a little amount of exercise and attempt to stay healthy from your part will make you live more than a person who never has had any disease but is not fit.
Doctors regularly prescribe something called resistance training in the elderly and the unfit. Making the body resistant by exercising regularly refreshes all the cardiovascular organs of the body and it can even reverse the effect of old age- such as weakening of muscles and bones.

If you can add flexibility workouts to your daily workout schedules then it will do miracles for your body. Flexibility exercises make the nervous system more receptive and thus help to wake up every nerve fiber in the body. As a result, all the side effects of aging such as loss of balance and stiffness can be cured to a large extent.
Inactivity is one of the main reasons behind a heart disease and high blood pressure. The more the heart is exercised the more it gets refreshed and the more effectively it can function. That is why doctors often prescribe exercise for children from a very early age because exercise is the way to complete fitness in life.
