Signs of Diabetes
Many people have diabetes without being aware of it. If he hasn’t already done the test you should ask your doctor if you should be tested for diabetes.
Diabetes is a debilitating disease that can strike anyone at any time from infancy to old age. Many people are walking around today with it and haven’t a clue. It can be treated and you can lead a normal life if you eat right, take your medication, and follow your doctors instructions.
The most important thing is your diet. You will have to eat a low carb diet of veggies, fruits, dairy, whole grains, few white starchy foods, no sugar or very low sugar, lean meat if you are a flesh eater. Few or no juices. Juices are loaded with carbs that hit your blood stream instantly. The magical word is carbs. You will have to count them diligently. And watch your serving sizes of everything. We have gotten to the state that we eat nearly twice the amount of food that we need. If you don’t have diabetes this diet could prevent you from developing it.

Changes in your diet can be a big help in controlling diabetes or avoiding it altogether. Poorly controlled diabetes can damage the heart, skin, blood vessels, kidneys, eyes, feet, and the brain. There isn’t an organ in your body that diabetes will not harm. Uncontrolled it will wear your body out, make you sluggish and depressed. It will sap your energy and steal your enthusiasm for life.
Here are some of the signs to watch out for; Recurrent vaginal yeast infections, extreme thirst, tingleing in the extremities, blurred vision, gum infections, fatigue, trouble concentrating, poor wound healing, unexplained weight loss or unexplained weight gain.
You can help yourself by following a good diet, exercising with a will and keeping a good attitude. Your doctor will order these tests to test for diabetes;

A fasting blood sugar test, in which your blood sugar levels are tested after fasting for 8 hours. An oral glucose tolerance test, in which your blood sugar is tested after you drink a sweet liquid that contains glucose, a type of sugar.
If you or someone in your family has diabetes, this sites will be helpful with diet and living with diabetes.

Good article!
I’m scared of diabetes because it runs in my family. Every time something comes up that could be a potential symptom, I go all paranoid.
*shudders*
Anywho.
I enjoyed your article.
Don’t forget about the extreme thirst symptom!

Ruby your so right, my hubby and daughter had diabetes for years , they were always testing so she tested me one day three years ago, I was at 23 which was high. I had no symtoms at all but did see my doc. He confirmed i was diabetic. I now have mine under control unlike my daughter (5 needles a day) or my hubby who sufffers from a lots of the symtoms that go with it. This is a very important article Ruby and a wake up call for many that think they don’t have it to be tested as soon as possible.

I’ve been a diabetes advocate for years, as I was first diagnosed at age 28 after passing out at work, with a reading of 525. If you know about glucose levels, that’s FIVE TIMES what it should be. Since then, I’ve lost over 60 lbs, and although it’s a struggle, it’s worth it for my health, my son and those I love to keep me around longer.

Great article, Ruby. Diabetes runs in my family. My father and my grandmother suffer from it. It’s really important that I take care of myself to make sure that I don’t get it too.

Thanks to all of you for your interest and for your time. My partner suffers from diabetes and we take it very seriously. It is nothing to fool around with. We all should be checked from time to time.
ML, thanks for pointing out that I left the extreme thirst off. I will fix that right away.
Yaffle, Lucky for you that your daughter tested you.
If any of you have any doubts or any symptoms be tested right away and good luck to you.

Very valuable advice. I began weight after age forty, so had myself tested, as I was thirsty a lot of the time. So far, I’m not. But the diet outlined is good for anyone.

Good information, but there is a couple other symptoms to be aware of for early indicators of possible diabetes…excessive thirst and frequent urination especially night wakings. Diabetes tends to run in families, so know your history.

For people with diabetes, there are many medical evidence stating that Ganoderma lucidum extract is good for treatment. I ever read several peer-reviewed papers written about this subject. It is a bit expensive though.

This is a very power article for people with diabetes or for all of us who have poor eating habits. Some of this information, I have never thought about, such as the fasting for 8hrs. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for this helpful information. I have not been very knowledgable about diabetes. My father had it and my mother has it also. I love orange juice and have always thought it was good for you. But now seeing this makes me take another look at how healthy is it for me to drink any kind of juice every day.
