Sleeping Disorders

Have you ever been lying in bed at night and no matter what you try to do you just can’t fall asleep? You could be exhausted but you still lay awake staring at the walls and ceiling. Here is a list of reasons that serve as contributing factors to sleep disorders.

This happens to everybody I know but why does it happen. There are many causes for these disorders but they all come down to how you feel at the time. You could have a job interview the next day and you go to bed early to get a good nights sleep or so you think. Even tough you tell yourself I’m not nervous I have nothing to worry about you are only fooling yourself because your brain is smart enough to know your lying sure it was the one who told you to tell you it in the first place it basically fabricated the lie for you. Your brain does this to stop you from wigging out on yourself in any situation. To every person there are two people there is you and the one who asks all the questions. Don’t worry this is fact you know this, multiple personality disorder is having more than two people in your head that’s a whole different story for another day.

The reasons behind sleep loss are : Stress, Worry, Upset, Love, Exhaustion, Fear, Regret, Hunger, and Anger or Frustration. Its almost impossible to get through a day without feeling any of these feelings. These lead to things playing on your mind at night when you want to sleep you might think you have dealt with everything before you got to bed, but there is something on your mind 24 hours a day weather you realise or not, awake or asleep.

As you lay there asking yourself questions about why cant I sleep the other you is busy subconsciously wading through what to expect and how the decisions you made today will alter tomorrow. The only reason you cant sleep is your not comfortable with something you did or something you are about to do. In most cases you don’t know what this is and you keep interrupting the other you who is thinking away to him/her self and all they tell you is shut up and go asleep.

Stress Levels

Your brain is a complex part of the body it tells us everything we need to know about everything we need to know and more. It also has levels that keep it balanced and our body balanced, and our emotions. Stress could alter any one of these balances causing irritation mentally this could be a number of things to prove a point I’ll use workload as an example. If you are stressed out over the amount of work you have to do for the next week or so, then your brain will take all this work in and try to think of a plan to sort it all out for you. The inquisitive you will be dealing with the real world things and daily life even tough you finish your daily routine, the fact of all this work is still playing on your mind and probably hasn’t figured out a plan yet. So you don’t know what the problem is lying in bed and your telling yourself to shut up that your trying to sleep. But you cant sleep and you keep asking thinking up of stupid things and this only frustrates the other you keeping you awake.

Worry

Worry is self explanatory simply you know what it is. It could be something has happened a loved one and they are lying in hospital you worry about them. It could be that job interview, it could be a lot of things that cause worry.

Being Upset

This is pretty obvious if you are upset over a particular event that happened be it personal or otherwise.

Love

Love is more complex you could be lying in bed wondering how to get the girl/guy, are you happy with them do you have the right one. You are in a relationship, are you happy there, is this what I want. How to impress how to not look dumb etc. you know what I mean it happens us all. The inquisitive person in you rattles the inner person for ideas and you both keep each other up. Love is the thing that will keep you up the most in your life. Its proven the happier you are in love the easier you sleep at night.

Exhaustion

Believe it or not you can just be too tired to sleep, say maybe you were playing sports that day the adrenalin could still be pumping through your body and even tough you have no intention of using it. Musicians suffer from exhaustion because they play at night mostly and the adrenalin is still pumping through their veins.

Fear

You could be afraid of going asleep, fear the more you think about it, the more it grows some people are more afraid than others, soldiers suffer from fear a lot they don’t know weather it will be safe to go asleep and not wake up dead. There are other types of fear, you could have a fear of a pain you could be experiencing to just timid fear such as fear of facing some one the next day to a fear of dreaming.

Regret

Regret will keep you awake and can be tied in with love . No body likes a break up but they do happen and wondering weather you made the right decision or not. In prison its said a guilty man will sleep better than a innocent one these people have come to terms with what they have done or they just don’t care. As to not caring it will catch up on them and they wont sleep later they just bottle it up. Regret always catches up with you.

Hunger

In many parts of the world hunger is the cause of not sleeping, they lay awake wondering where they are going to gat their next meal from. This effects the homeless and the poor but its still a factor of our lives too you could be lying there just to lazy to get out of bed and get it but whatever you were craving would be the very thing that will keep you awake.

Anger

Everybody knows you cant sleep until you relax sometimes you cant relax it could be a simple thing like a broken vase or someone scratched your car to more serious cases. But they all have the same effect in bed. You are laying there trying to get asleep and a dog barks any other night this would have been okay but no tonight no… you let a roar at the dog and get into bed then it could be a dripping tap, swinging door other family members making noise take your pick, they’re all going to drive you nuts.

Frustration

This is where you simply don’t have an answer or a solution to what you are thinking of or what’s bothering you. You might not have a heavy workload to get through and live a relaxed lifestyle so the other you will keep you awake debating with yourself and is probably thinking of the same problem.

The other type of sleeping disorder is the staying in bed and wanting to jump back in the minute you get out. There are some reasons for this the main one is you have to much time to waste. These people are sleep mad they would sleep 24 hours a day if they were let. They usually have nothing to do and cut themselves off from the world. These people love the dream state its usually the ones you see falling asleep on public transport. I use to be one of these people, I got up and went to work fell asleep on the bus, I can’t remember how many times I over shot my stop. You feel pretty stupid when this happens believe me.

We as people will get lazy if we are let, if we don’t have anything to do we sleep. And yet if we have to much to do we stress out its hard to sleep. We have to keep our selves on a balance or our bodies will react to tell us there is something wrong. So look after yourself……..
