Symptoms of Aortic Calcification

Symptoms of aortic calcification

Mild aortic calcification can be diagnosed through observation of the following symptoms;

Heart murmur *
* Tightness in the chest area followed by severe pain or angina
* Experience of fatigue, especially in more effort and increased activity

* Cough, especially at bedtime or at night
Swollen ankles and feet
* Excessive urination and frequent
Dizziness is to overwork and nausea

The causes of calcification of the aorta

Calcification of the aortic valve usually affects people who are over 65 years.  If aortic stenosis or sclerosis affects people under 65, may be due to several reasons.  Some of the causes of calcification of the aorta;

* A rare cause of calcification of the aortic valve is the presence of a congenital heart defect.  In rare cases, some babies born with tight aortic valve, which can lead to heart problems in adulthood.
* The formation of scar tissue in the arteries due to rheumatic fever, a complication of strep throat, can reduce the size of the aortic valve, leading to stenosis of the aortic valve.  Calcium deposits can also be accumulated in the rough surface of the scar tissue, which may contribute to calcification of the aortic valve or more.
* The accumulation of calcium in the aortic valve of the heart can lead to sclerosis.  This deposition of calcium can be caused by factors such as age, the body loses its ability to handle the accumulation of calcium and say that in the inner wall of the arteries.
* Some of the causes of calcification of the aortic valve is smoking, and the presence of large amounts of cholesterol in the body.  Kidney failure can also be a causative factor of aortic sclerosis.

Treatment of aortic calcification

Calcification of the aorta can diagnose a heart murmur individual experiences.  Your doctor will recommend the patient to undergo an electrocardiogram (ECG) and ultrasound to determine the severity of the disease.  When this condition is diagnosed, your doctor may prescribe medication to help with the thinning of the deposits.  In severe cases, the patient must undergo a surgical procedure, called aortic valve replacement to replace the aorta affected.
