Symptoms of Swine Flu

The symptoms of swine flu
According to the CDC, like seasonal flu, symptoms of swine flu infections can include:
fever, which is generally high, but unlike seasonal flu, is sometimes absent
cough
runny or stuffy nose
sore throat
pain
headache
chills
fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme
diarrhea and vomiting, at times, but usually seen with seasonal flu
Signs of swine flu infection might include more severe pneumonia and respiratory failure.
If your child has symptoms of swine flu, avoid other people and call your pediatrician, who can do a rapid flu test to check for influenza. Other tests may be conducted to see if a swine flu infection.(Samples can be sent to local health departments and state and CDC for confirmation of swine flu, especially if the child is in the hospital.)

With regular seasonal flu, young children and the elderly are generally considered the most at risk of serious infections, and more people with chronic medical problems. It is important to note that, unlike seasonal flu, more than half of hospitalizations and a quarter of deaths from swine flu are young people under 25.
