As we know many people suffer from this disease, it includes the famous person like Michael Jackson, Thomas Lennon and Doc Hammer. Which mean this disease is where ever in the world.
For many years, there is almost no treatment for vitiligo. Nowadays, scientist and dermatologist have come with a new idea on how to cure vitiligo effectively. The most popular treatment for vitiligo is a laser vitiligo treatment, which is popularly known as phototheraphy vitiligo treatment.
The treatment is to expose the vitiligo skin area to ultraviolet (UVA) from the sun or from the UVA lamp. Lately, the treatment is use the Narrowband UVB lamp, which is more effective to cure the vitiligo and make the vitiligo patients smile again. I start to develop vitiligo on July 07. Try many different presribed cream and didn’t really work. Right now my only treatment is UVA light, but that doesn’t seem to work either. Maybe I have to wait for awhile to see an effect (3 months already).
JohnJenin | Nov 19, 2007 | Reply
Nomarly, the treatment will take some time.. maybe up to years to fully cure, depend on the treatment frequency and the vitiligo itself. other way to treat vitiligo is using PUVA, the different is a little amount of mediline paint will be apply at the affect area before getting treatment with light. check here for detail http://effectivevitiligotreatment.blogspot.com/

Vitiligo shouldnt be such a hinderance on someone’s life. I have had it for over 10 years and consider it a blessing that I am able to live and be healthy with a “disease.” Be happy with yourself and accept the disease. Dont be so quick to find a cure. The imperfections in us are what make us beautiful.

I have vitiligo now for four years..When it began to spread I took neem tablets and it stopped spreading within a week. In USA, there is no treatment for vitiligo..They give you elidel/protopic and the pigmentation is not permanent..From then onwards, I am trying to pigment the affected areas..not much luck..Narrowband UVB produced the best benefit. I posted my details in Englishforums but I could not find the link now..I prettymuch tried everything in the internet, form homeo, herbal, chineseetc etc..no use..the latest I heard is that black pepper is good if applied..

I am a vitiligo patient, although its in the initial stages.i have marble sized spots on my legs, hips and now its starting to appear below my chin.strangely enough iv noticed that if appears on the left…..soon enough it starts appering on the right side as well that too on the exact place.I got it on bothsides of my legs ans hip area.I started using a local medicine….and now the spots are slowly diminishing.Hopefully its gonna go away forever. But my major concern i…..will it ever stop appearing on other unaffected areas???Besides the medicine im using is just for application.I have nothing to consume to prevent the furthur possibilities of it from appearing on other prts.I wonder if pills for consumption are required???

I have tried many tx for Vitiligo, and have the best results with UVB and UVA light txs. A few weeks ago I tried UVA (commercial tanning bed) and have excellent results. (Many new freckles showing on my arms! in 3 weeks!) I am treating two times a week at 8 minutes now. It is a lot more cost effective than the UVB txs through my Derm, and more conv.

Sadly that vitiligo treatments take long time to see tthe effect. For the instant resolution I think that the surgical procedure is a great ideas. But All vitiligo surgical therapies must be considered only after proper medical therapy is provided. Vitiligo surgical techniques are time-consuming and expensive and usually not paid for by insurance carriers. They are appropriate only for carefully selected patients who have vitiligo that has been stable for at least 3 years. more details on http://effectivevitiligotreatment.blogspot.com/2007/11/surgical-therapies.html (copy this link and paste to you adress tool bar)

I checked with so many doctors in NZ, MALAYSIA and Australia, but of no use.
Finally I went back India and seeing a dr. there, who prescribe few medicines for my son and UV light (which is available from Dermaindia) and it works..
My son is always having new spots but old ones are also disapperaing, its really slow process but atleast it works.

Hello! I’ve had vitiligo for about two n a half years now. I only have it on the left side of my body on my arm, back and chest. I hateeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee it with a passion. When it started to appear, I went to the doctor and was prescribed to take elidel, protopic, and some other cream(don’t remember the name). My doctor told me that it could be caused from stress or thyroids. Basically they didn’t work for me but when i stopped using the creams it spreaded even more. I am really stressed over it and try to hide it all the time. Please help me out and let me know what the best treatment would be.
Thanx, D.H.

Guys
I have it in my hands
I think I was able to slow it using Vitamin B6 Foilc Acid and Vitamin C tablets, daily
A new cure is the Excimer Laser, high power concentrated UVB laser, its not new but the machine is new (XTRAC made by Photomedex)and is in use to cure vitligo patches in the US though not enough history on whether the cured patches will remain cured is there at this time (2009) however one Doctor said this does not prevent other areas from losing color so the best is to use multiple approaches and not lose faith
I would advise this
a. Use the Vitamins
b. Minimize exposure to Sun
c. Try getting Gigko Biloba
d. Get the Laser if you can afford it, it normally takes 3 sessions a week for 6 months to do this
and pray that we will all get rid of this awful ailment

Anyone have positive repigmentation results from Melagenina Plus? Please share your experience!
my vitiligo experience | Jul 4, 2009 | Reply
Vitiligo is a very mysterious disease. Doctors know why, but not what causes it. From my personal experience, here is what I believe triggers my vitiligo so far: 1. mood, 2. diet, 3. environment. For example, stress, depression, spicy foods, shellfish, (ie, crab, shrimp), alcohol, intense sun exposure are all factors that I try to stay away from. It may be a combination of these things, or an excess of one.
Often western medicine will initially prescribe topical steroid ointments to treat vitiligo. I’ve tried it with no positive results. At times, the corticosteroids seem to have an adverse effect. It seems that once you use the ointment, you have to keep using it, otherwise the hypopigmented area will spread.
UVB narrowband light treatments seems to repigment well, but I think the UVB light simply causes the surrounding melanocytes from nearby to overproduce melanin, thus giving the impression of repigmentation. Therefore the phototheraphy is only a temporary solution, because the color will most likely fade once these light sessions are halted.
If I had to do it all over again, I would go the eastern medicine route first. Because I believe vitiligo is more than skin deep, it starts within the body and expresses itself outside on the skin. Eastern herbal medicine tries to detox and realign the balance in your body first. It can be a slow healing process, but I find it less abrasive than steroids. Since I believe vitiligo stems from a build up of certain negative factors over time, it needs to take some more time again to reverse the damage.
In other words, western medicine tries to heal by external means and eastern medicine tries to heal from internal means. I simply believe the solutions starts from within the body because that is where the problem originated from. The skin is just visual sign of something going wrong internally.
I am not saying one treatment is better than the other. However, I am simply sharing my vitiligo experience. There is no known single cure for vitiligo. Everyone responds to respective treatments differently. Above all, I hope vitiligo sufferers like myself can stay positive throughout!

tight clothing and friction of the skin this is how michal jackson got it
deficiency of b complex
pulling hair(un wanted by electric machine or waxing on the genetial area this is how i got it
stress
i have one more idea for the friends who have it on all over the body (50 OR 75 percent ) before taking the option of bleaching yurself which can cause cancer try to scratch a hidden part of the body which already has vitiligo this way it will definitely spread if it does try the rest and hope fully u will b white all over without bleaching yurself all the best

I just read that vitiligo is caused by damage or partial necrosis of the liver. I have been treating my liver myself, bathing with 2 drops of carrotseed essential oil (to heal) and 2 drops of lavendar oil (to relax). I have used carrot seed cream (Burt\’s Bee\’s) for a recent eczema condition and have made red clover tea and dandelion tea to help clean the blood. Eat only gluten free bread products. Sesame seeds clear parasites. All of this has cured the constipation. I plan to do some cleanses (gallbladder) and the Master Cleanse (organic lemon juice, maple syrup and organic cayenne pepper). Simultaneously, I will juice Organic parsley, romaine, celery, cilanto, bananas, lemons, apples & pears & a little water. I take Neem capsules and apply neem cream. I believe the healing will come mostly from within. I did purchase bio-piperine (long black pepper tablets).

I’ve had vitiligo for over 11 years. I had the “light treatments” back in 1998, while it worked for a few years it has since returned. Nothing seems to help now not the Protopic nor the light treatment. For anyone who is willing to try it a few years back I took folic acid and B complex after reading a book written by Dr Atkins. That worked in stopping the progression of it. I apologize I don’t know the name of the book but you can Google it, its his book on supplements I think it’s called Vita Nutrient Solution. Like I said it was effective in stopping the progression, it’s a cheap alternative to proptopic.

It’s very noticeable and I hate it so much, I go through a lot of stress as is, and this is causing even more, I’ve seen a lot of cream’s and stuff and oils to help, but that obviously won’t stop the progression of the disease. Does anyone know something I can do ? Can anyone help ? I haven’t talked to a doctor yet, my mother doesn’t care enough to take me, so I’m hoping to find something on here.
