The Most Scary Sleep Disorders
Even though there are over 80 types of sleep disorders, these are the most profoundly scary sleep problems that can affect any age group, and certainly, they can be disruptive to one’s sleep and health. These “dream-like” sleep problems may be as spooky as the horror films that you are afraid of.
Nightmare Disorder
People who suffer from psychiatric disorders and live a stressful life are more likely to repeatedly awaken from sleep with detailed recall of vivid, scary dreams. Upon awakening from such realistic dreams they find themselves feeling threatened and frightened and feel significant distress.

This disorder, also called dream anxiety disorder, starts before the age of 20 and the sleepers may talk, or moan during the course of a nightmare. It can persist for decades and in most cases sleepers will experience three or more nightmares in a week. Upon waking, they may have been sweating, and experiencing a profound sense of fear, increased heart rate and other symptoms of anxiety and depression. It’s difficult for them to go back to sleep since they fear they may have another bad dream.
Sleepwalking

Sleepwalking or somnambulism is very common among children aged 4 to 8, even though it can happen to any age group. It usually occurs during the stages 3 and 4 of sleep, lasting from as little as a few seconds, for as long as 30 minutes or longer with most sleepers looking disoriented, confused and dazed.

It involves wandering outside, moving furniture, cleaning, dressing, cooking, driving, urinating inside the cupboard, undressing, walking to the bathroom, to behavior as potentially harmful as homicide, though, they are unlikely to remember what they have done. In children, the sleepwalking causes are attributed to lack of sleep, fatigue and fear but in adults it can be caused by mental problem, certain medical conditions (e.g. partial complex seizures) or reaction towards medications, drugs and alcohol as well.

This was awesome I truly enjoyed this entire article and I believe that I’ve suffered from 2 of your choices . First was the sleep Paralysis….Now only difference was I was fully awake, couldn’t speak or yell out and a huge weigh on my chest. I had seen my dead sister and another figure coming through the room and when I couldn’t speak started praying inwards and the figures approached me and before they touched my chest a lour chilling scream finally came out. However my ex-husband was into the occult at that time and one of the main reasons we are divorced now…but he stated he sent that figure to check on me because we had a newborn and I was supposed to have been sleep….whatever the case may be it scared the crap out of me…the second choice insomnia I get that with the pain from surgery and all its hard to sleep but I question whether the sleep paralysis is exclusively a disorder or something from the darkside is messing with you.
