Tips to Improve Memory Naturally

My colleagues used to tease me for being very forgetful at work. But little did I know my forgetfulness had something to do with my health and hectic lifestyle.

Some instances were like suppose, I place something at a table and the very next moment I would forget where I placed it. Similarly, I would walk up to the cupboard in the next room to pick up something. But on reaching the room, I would stand in front of the cupboard, wondering what I have come to pick up.  

 

Normally, we ignore such things as we believe it happen to many of us.  In most cases, such forgetfulness is a result of insomnia, lack of rest, stressful life, skipping your meals, unhealthy diet, financial pressure and serious illnesses.  Except for the latter, there is a solution for the rest.

Here are few tips to increase memory naturally–

 

  • Eat a healthy diet which includes dairy products, fresh fruits, vegetables and cereals in moderate quantity.
  • Have a goodnight sleep for atleast 7 – 8 hours.  Apart from improving your memory, having a good sleep at night helps to reduce weight.
  • Try to be organized in your everyday life. Jot down notes, dates of appointment and give preference for the things that need your attention the most.
  • Exercise regularly preferably in the morning.  Yoga relaxes your body and mind and soul.  It is one of the best techniques adopted to relieve stress.
  • Spend sometime for yourself and pamper your body.  This is what most of us lack.  We have no time for ourselves.
  • Listen to soothing music when you feel depressed and stressed.  As excess secretion of stress hormones would have an impact on the functioning of your brain.
  • Play brain games like scrabble and chess to boost your memory.  There are many online brain games that you could find on the web, if you are not comfortable with the above.
  • Use colors, images and alarm alerts to remind you to do a certain core.

I’m certain, most of us would give a deaf ear to such tips.  But considering few of the above can improve your memory and avoid embarrassment.

  16. These tips are great. I tend to forget things too. I write down things on different pieces of paper and leave them in books that I know I will read to make sure that I will see them. I love to play games. I play them all of the time.
