Snoring can occur when the area at the back of the throat narrows from time to time.
Snoring can occur when the area at the back of the throat narrows from time to time. The throat muscles are more relaxed when you sleep, the passage narrows. The tissues surrounding the opening to vibrate when air passes, which causes the snoring noise. There are various reasons for the reduction, some is due to the narrowing of the nose, or mouth narrowing or constriction of the throat. For some people, snoring is not a problem and for others, they do not snore all the time. People who are overweight, men and women are more likely to snore than others.
The narrowing of the passage will be a person who snores and there are different causes of shrinkage. Drugs or causes of alcohol is one cause, as these substances contain muscle relaxation and cause the throat muscles to relax, and snoring. Another cause is when you have a cold or sinusitis, and if you have a stuffy nose. Lesser air can pass through the nasal passage which causes snoring, because the throat has to draw air through the mouth.
Also asthma and smoking may increase the likelihood of snoring because it brings irritation and construction of the air. Sleeping on your back is another question because gravity pulls down your language gives little air to pass. As mentioned, men and women who are overweight tend to snore because the fat around the throat and gives less of passage for air.
