Who is at Risk for Swine Flu?

Health issues, swine flu, epidemics.

With each breakout of a new flu strain precautions and warnings are issued.  These warnings are usually aimed at infants, small children, those with weakened immune systems, and the elderly.  The continuing threat of  the swine flu epidemic rages throughout the country.  Who is really at risk for this dangerous health threat?  Unfortunately, the swine flu does not discriminate.  Its victims are of every age, color, creed, sex, religion and region of the country.  No one can be left out of its contagious path.

We thought we were safe from the spread of swine flu when the first reported and confirmed cases were in Mexico.  Swine flue quickly left “south of the border” and made its way to the United States.  The disease’s search for new infections was on.  We are all at risk when it comes to swine flu.  Area doctors and hospitals around the country are prepared to help those who suffer swine flu symptoms.

This should not be seen as a time of panic, but precautions need to be taken seriously.  The spread of swine flu can be life threatening.  It should not be taken lightly.  Health Department warnings should be followed.  Frequent hand washing is highly recommended.  We can not hide from the dangers of swine flu at all times so we must do everything we can to help confront it.
