Why You Should Get The H1n1 Vaccine
Play it safe, get the vaccine.
Last Friday, President Obama announced a state of emergency, after it was confirmed that 12 people died while having the H1N1 flu. There is growing frustration in the U.S. over shortage of vaccine, up here in Canada, the vaccine is out, there is enough vaccines for everyone, yet half of the population is undecided on getting it.
One of the reasons this may be, is that there was confusion in the information the population recieved as contradictory evidence pointed that the H1N1 flu was first dangerous, than, nothing more than a common cold. This season, the virus has mutated and it is imperial that at least 75% of the population get the vaccine to prevent an outbreak, even so, a recent poll showed that 51% of canadians aren’t planning on getting the vaccine at all. If these people don’t get the vaccine, the effect of the vaccine will not be strong enough, and there could be a widespread outbreak of a dangerous disease.
Just yesterday, one 13 year-old Toronto teenager died after being sent home, just Sunday after visiting a hospital for having fever, and vomiting, symptoms of a serious case of H1N1. He died in his home suddenly collapsing to the floor. His case might be the first of many we will be hearing of if people don’t start taking this virus seriously.
