Disabled Loos

Trying to find a disabled loo when you go shopping can be a nightmare!

Trying to find a disabled loo when you go into town can be a nightmare!  I went recently into town with my husband who is wheel chair bound for lunch and to do a bit of shopping… we were having such a nice time until my hubby wanted to go to the loo!

The restaurant did not have any facilities for disabled so I reassured my husband not to worry as we will definitely find one as we where after all in a large town.  Well this reassurance disappeared quickly after an hour when no toilet was found.  Public toilet; you needed keys, shopping mall had only regular toilets but luckily we soon found a department store which had a disabled loo on the third floor.

My husband crossed legged and now turning red with the stress of trying not to pee himself we finally arrived at the lift in the department store to only find with horror that every time we tried to get into a lift it was jammed packed with fellow shoppers who would not move an inch to let us in the lift with the wheel chair.

Finally we got to the disabled loo to our distress; saw a queue of pregnant women and mothers with children who would prefer to use the disabled loo in place of the regular toilet as it has more room.  The scary thing was the toilet attendant did not see what our problem was when we mentioned that the toilet should only be used for the disabled. It was then my husbands turn and he finally was relieved and had a smile again back on his face.

It took us just over two hours for my husbands loo visit.  So next time you want to go to the loo try and hold it for two hours and see if you can do it.
