Myths and Facts on Autism
Here is some myths and facts on Autism.
Myth: Autistic people are all the same.
Fact: Autistic people all share different personalities just as anyone else would.
Myth: All autistic people have amazing math abilities.
Fact: Yes it is true that some autistic people have amazing abilities, however most only have average or below average skills.
Myth: Autistic people never have feelings.
Fact: Autistic people do have feelings for other people, but at times they may not show because of their difficulties in socializing.
Myth: People with autism do not have any language skills.
Fact: There are many different diagnoses of autism, some of which include non-verbal autistics. However, many people with autism still have a great ability to communicate.
Myth: Autistic people are dangerous.
Fact: An autistic person will never deliberately hurt you. They are not dangerous at all.
Myth: People with autism can’t do much at all.
Fact: Not true. People with autism can learn just as many skills just like any other person.
