Benefits of Exercise
The benefits of exercise in addition to losing weight.
Recent research suggests that there are more benefits to exercise than just merely loosing weight.
Getting motivated to exercise regularly is a hard thing for many of us. There will be several reasons why we cannot do it. Finally, when the going gets tough, we start checking what we eat and kick that exercise programme into gear. People often get discouraged when they do not see the figures on their scale decline significantly in a rapid fashion. Unfortunately, before any kilos, our motivation disappears. It is imperative to choose a programme that you can live with.
Results of several studies continue to support a growing literature suggesting that exercise, physical activity and physical-activity interventions have beneficial effects across several physical and mental-health outcomes.
In the March 2007 issue of the journal Metabolism, the results of a 12-week exercise intervention in lean and obese men with and without type 2 diabetes was published. The exercises led to reductions in waist circumference and fasting interleukin-6 (an inflammatory chemical produced by the tissues) concentrations. Several other favourable outcomes were also published in this issue.
In general, hundreds of studies conducted over the past 50 years demonstrate that exercise and physical activity are associated with better quality of life and health outcomes. The human body changes through exercise and prevents diseases from taking over.
Of course, there is no doubt that exercises that bring about a favourable change in weight are more desirable than those that does not. The idea is to check on what you eat while you aspire for the new goal of your weight, in addition to perseverance. Do not underscore the power of the effects exercise can have on your body. It may seem that your efforts are in vain. Remember, even if you don’t loose weight as much as you expect, it has several other beneficial effects.
