Best Time to Burn Fat

Burn more fats.

I have often seen people working out in the morning although they are not early birds. They just do it because they have been told by someone that you burn more fats in the morning than at any other time of the day.

I would say that there is a little evidence to support this theory. However, the number one consideration for exercise is to do something within the 24 hours of most days. Although a case can be made that walking in the morning will increase metabolic rate early in the day and hence result in greater energy use over the whole day. Timing really depends on what you prefer.

From a practical perspective, mornings are best because it’s done, out of the way and your exercise is done for the day.

Please don’t force yourself to get up in the morning and workout just for the sake that working out in the morning will burn more fats.

  1. Many people believe exercising in the morning will burn more fat because you’re training on an empty stomach, your body doesn’t have any other fuel. The risk to this is that your body ends up consuming muscle versus fat.
    The best way to burn off fat is when you are really comfortable working out. Maintain a consistent, long term program of exercise and a reasonable diet, and you WILL see results.

  3. Great article! I workout in the early morning bcos i can just get up without difficulty.
    and the gym is always packed around 5 or 6 pm!
    i have also heard that cardio should be done in the mornings, but weight training should be done in the evenings bcos the body actually has fuel to burn, more energy too.
