Finding the Time to Exercise

Easy ways to squeeze exercise into your day.

I’ve heard it so many times….. “I want to be healthy but I don’t have time exercise.” There’s irony in that. The sad part is, for many, if they don’t find the time to exercise, at some point they’re likely to have to find time to deal with being sick.
Maybe you can’t get in a full hour.. ok! But get in something….anything! The next time you think you’re too busy to exercise, try squeezing it in with these ideas: Stuck in Traffic or at a Red light?Try some isometric exercises! Tighten your abs! Squeeze your butt! Ladies…do your kegels. (You can also do these while standing in lines or sitting in boring meetings)Shopping? Park far from the entrance and move with a purpose, but don’t run over anyone with a cart.
Cooking or cleaning? Put on some dance music and let the music put some groove into those chores. Another thing I like to do while doing housework is to clean my house like I have unexpected guests coming at any minute! Hurry! Hurry!
Need to spend more time with the kids? Let’s skip another movie. How about going outside and playing?
Watching TV? How about lifting weights or doing some toning exercises during the commercials? (Note: if you have time to watch TV, perhaps you have to time exercise… but you already knew that)
Will these things give you a rock hard body good enough for the cover of a magazine? Nope. BUT, every little bit helps. And the alternative of doing nothing at all, will only get you what you don’t want.
