It is recommended to maintain aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes at a time for about 4-5 times per week. Taking breaks in between activities is completely fine.

How can you make the most of aerobic exercise?

Experts agree that the best way to benefit from aerobic activity is to consistently alternate between different exercises. For example, it is recommended to jog for 15 minutes and then cycle for another 15 and then swim for another 15. This ensures that all your muscle groups are equally utilized.

Exercise with caution.

Be sure to listen to your body. This is especially important if you are starting a new exercise routine or have not exercise in awhile.  In such a case, it is very important not over exert your body.  Instead, be sure to workout at a rhythmic, steady pace.
