Is Wii Fit a Suitable Replacement for Your Exercise Regimen?
More people are using Wii fit nowadays and the designers of the interactive games are ingenious to the different types of exercises. Many so-called couch potatoes are becoming more active because of this game.
For many people, Wii fit is fun to use. This can lead to motivation towards exercise. Or is it motivation to play a video game? Unlike other video games, you can’t perform this game just by sitting down. Like any games you’d encounter, this will give you a score. Your input is basically the basis of your score in any video game. Your input in Wii fit is the physical activity you perform. Your score is determined by your performance. Hence, you’ll be guided by the game if you’re doing it right.

Wii fit will keep track of your BMI and your weight. It will keep track of your progress. It will determine how often you use the game. It determines your balance. As you improve your performance, your fitness level also improves. This game can be fun and helpful for beginners. This can also be fun for people who spend a long time playing video games. However, for more advanced exercisers, this game may have many limitations that will limit the users’ capabilities.
There are four types of exercises in Wii fit; balance, yoga, strength training, and aerobics. It helps beginners by guiding them on how to properly do the exercise. This can also help people who are trying to lose weight because it marks your weight, BMI, your workout progress, time spent on the game, and your balance. As your performance level improves, you will be able to unlock more exercises. This is similar to common games where you will only go to the next level if you win the lower level of the game.

Wii fit may be a suitable replacement for your exercise regimen if you’re a beginner. It may also serve as a motivation for those who do not workout daily. As long as you find this game to be fun, this will help you do your daily exercises. However, intermediate and advanced exercisers should not replace their exercise regimen with Wii fit. The game has many limitations and these limitations may not satisfy advanced exercisers. However, this can be a healthy and fun diversion from your usual heavy workouts.
Use Wii fit video game wisely. If you use Wii fit as an exercise machine that can give your exercise regimen diversity from your daily workout, then it can give you exercise benefits just like any other exercise equipment like treadmills or steppers. If you start treating it like an exercise machine, then it will give you the benefits of an exercise machine. If you start treating it like a video game, then it may hurt you more in the long run because of the irregularity of your workouts. Have fun playing your Wii fit video game but don’t overdo them to avoid injuries that come from excessive and irregular workouts.

BeatsMe, I have also written about the Wii Fit exercise game at Bukisa but I have to say..my article sucks in comparison to the article you have written here…hehehehe. When it was first introduced into Australia, it sold out at stores around the country. The Wii Fit is particularly good for women and the elderly. Excellent article BeatsMe.

Looks fun. I’ll have to take a look at the cost. The feedback element looks really good…I have exercise tapes that I enjoy, but they do get boring after a while.

I don’t own a Wii Fit but it certainly has revolutionised modern day gaming (as a tech lover). It has made people become more active and I think it is the baby step towards fitness.
Good article!

Hi Atikin, I agree with you. Without Wii fit, exercise can get boring. With it, many people can start being more active. I just hope that in the future, probably few years from now, it’ll be available for more people.

Wow, cool! That will motivate people to exercise!
So, BeatsMe, you own a Wil fit? If yes, do you follow daily?
Starpisces | Jan 14, 2010 | Reply
oops, typo error, should be Wii…

I agree, Star. This game will surely motivate people to exercise. The inventors sure knew what people want and need. If you’ve Wii fit, you should follow daily, or else, it’d be a waste. Wii fit is not a cheap product, you wouldn’t want it just sitting in a corner of your home.
