P90X: Hell Yes

I have never been what you would consider “skinny”. I am more what you would consider “curvy”. I have a wide back and after having a child, a wide front. I haven’t always been heavy but after having a child I got really heavy. I have also always had a hard time taking off weight and it is something that I have struggled with for my whole life. I have tried different diets, diet pills, starving, eating differently, spanx, it just all wasn’t worth it. The diets made me hungry and angry at everything. The diet pills gave me a heart murmur. Starving made me hungry, eating different made me want things I shouldn’t have, and the spanx…well that’s a different story all together. (A funny one too.)

So my hubby and I decided to get fit. Which really isn’t all that fair considering that he is very tall and skinny. So we are sitting in bed watching TV (that was how we worked out before) and the commercial for P90X comes on. So we are watching this extensive commercial, and watching and watching. The commercial is like an hour long. So right as they are about to give the number to order, my hubby and I look at each other and telepathically decide to order the full package. I call, the order is made, and the wait is on.

Once we finally get the package, its like Christmas. We got all of the DVD’s, the chin up bar, the bands, the vitamins, and of course the best part, the recovery drink. We decide that once we have everything put away and the chin up bar put up we will start working out. So that means the next day. The next day comes and we are really ready. I mean down to the sports wear. We put in the DVD and get ready. I will tell you right now, after the first video, I was pretty sure that I was going to die. I was so very out of shape and the DVD was great and kicked my butt. So we crawl into the kitchen and get our vitamins, food (they send you a how to cook for yourself or what to cook depending one the day), and make the recovery drink. That drink is so worth getting your butt kicked for.

The next day we do it again. And the next, and the next, etc…. I start feeling better. Having the energy to keep up with my son, and get everything done when I planned on doing it. IT WAS GREAT! With in one week (of the 90 day program) I looked in the mirror and saw something that I have never seen on my body before…an ab line. I have been working out for a week at this point, following their eating instructions and the work out, and now I have this cool little line! Now of course they tell you to take pictures of the before and then you are to take them again every thirty days. So looking at the before picture and then the one week in the mirror…I was never going to stop doing this program.

Once the one month came and my hubby and I were taking the pictures, I noticed my gut wasn’t as big, I had my cool line and I had little guns (arm muscles). My hubby had changed a lot too. His arms were bigger and his tummy more defined. Everything was working better then they said on their hour long commercial. On the days that it was hard to do our work out we kept saying “Recovery Drink, Recovery Drink!” Then once we got through it, it was time for the drink. This drink is so wonderful. It tastes like and Orange Julius. Not to mention it works. They said it was going to make it so that we weren’t so sore the next day after the work outs. They weren’t lying. The vitamins have everything in them and are wonderful.

Don’t think that this workout (just because its like a boot camp) is just for the younger, semi-fit group. Its not. There is a guy on the commercial that was like 60 and was doing the work out and getting great results. In the videos they tell you how to modify the work outs to better suit your fitness level. The whole thing is great and I literally have recommended it to everybody that I know. So if you have seen the commercials and thought about ordering the P90X workout…just do it! You wont regret it. I promise you this, if you do what they tell you to do and stick with it, this program will pay for itself every time that you look in the mirror. And now that I have told you all about this I can say that I have recommend this to everyone that I know and a few that I don’t! Enjoy!
