You may have noticed that you always feel better after exercising, you feel more energised and positive. This is because research has shown that there are not just physical benefits of exercise but there are also psychological benefits.

Studies have shown that exercising regularly can help you feel less tense, because exercise is a great stress reducer, so if you are feeling stressed don’t stop exercising.

Exercising can also help to reduce and improve depression in most people; some people have noticed a difference after just four weeks of exercise. However it is more likely to be a longer term improvement, such as three months.

Another psychological benefit of exercise is the improvement of memory. Research has shown that there can be an improvement in memory for those over sixty, who regularly exercise. Although there is no research to suggest what effect exercise has on younger people’s memory, it doesn’t however hurt to try and see if there is any improvement in your memory.

Exercise can not only reduce stress, depression and improve memory but it also helps to keep you healthy and helps you live longer. If you haven’t started exercising yet what are you waiting for?
