Tips for Your Walking Workout

If you like to workout by walking, then you need to make sure you do it the best way possible for your health.

  1. Listen to your favorite upbeat music to keep you moving.

  2. Walking with friends is always funner than walking alone.
  3. Wanting to excercise, but not lose out on family time? Bring them along. Spend time with your children and significant other while keeping healthy.
  4. Carry hand weights when walking to assist in toning your arms and shoulders.
  5. Keep good posture while walking. Don’t allow yourself to slouch over. Keep you back straight and there is no need to swing your arms wildly.
  6. Wear comfortable clothing, that moves when you walk.
  7. Wear proper shoes when walking for support, and comfort. No slippers or boots.
  8. Take your dog with you. If you like the quietness of walking alone, but do not want to be alone, take your dog. Fido needs his exercise also.
  9. Wear a headband to keep cool, and keep the sweat out of your eyes.
  10. For those long walks or those hot days, take a bottle of iced water with you.
