Ways to Have Fun Exercising
Know you need to exercise but neglecting it because it is not fun? Here are a few ways to make your experience much more enjoyable.
Everyone needs exercise as it helps keep us healthy and in shape but many dread exercise or neglect it. Why is this? It is because, to many people, it is not fun. It is something they dread like their chores or doing the bills. If people do not exercise because they do not enjoy it, the logical thing to do is make exercise fun.
One way to have a better time exercising is to watch TV. While you are running on the treadmill or riding the bike you can be watching your favorite show or even a movie on the big screen. Things like soccer or football or any other sport for that matter are really fun to watch if they are on. If it is something you want to see with your undivided attention such as the Super Bowl or the Olympics, you can run or do push-ups during breaks or commercials.
Whether your home on the bike our out taking a jog, music can make your experience much more enjoyable. Just turn on the radio or listen to your favorite songs on your MP3 player and you’ll be having fun in no time. This is an excellent alternative to just sitting on your bed listening to music as you still get to listen to your music but you are still getting the exercise.
Another way, and my personal favorite, is to play sports. As soon as you start you get immersed in the competitive nature and fun. Any sport is fine, just find one you enjoy. Swimming, baseball, fencing, soccer, lacrosse, paintball, all are examples of suitable choices and all offer different types of exercise and different experiences.
Sports are a very good choice as they keep you practicing because you want to get better, so instead of just exercising once (the game) they will get you exercising even more as you strive to become the best you can be. Another advantage of sports is that you can play with others and make good friends. You may eventually look forward to this exercise because you can’t wait to see the new friends you have made.
Most, if not all sports require to be in good physical shape in order to do well. This means that if you want to be one of the better soccer players for example, you may need to put in the extra work outside of games and practices to become more fit. Sprints to improve your speed, push-ups and other core exercises to improve your strength, jumping, and kicking, and long distance running and hard work while you are tired to improve your endurance, all of these will help you become a better soccer player while also helping you become more physically fit and healthy.
I personally think that sports are the best approach to having fun while exercising and becoming physically fit but there are other approaches that I have outlined before that work as well. You should try all of them and see which works best for you and then do that at least a few times a week.

Great article Glass. I often do ab-blasting exercises while watching TV, sometimes doing up to 500 ab crunches. When I’m doing my 10-mile runs every Saturday I’m listening to mostly dance, techno and fast-pace hiphop. Since I have a set number of songs that I’m listening to, instead concentrating on how many more miles I have left I’m thinking about how many more songs I have left to listen to and takes my mind off of running, making it much easier.
