Yoga Swing Techniques
Yoga swings can be used by beginners and advanced practitioners alike. Although many people are not familiar with yoga swings, they have been featured on major media broadcasts, such as the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Yoga swings allow yoga practitioners to further enhance their experience by suspending themselves in the air on a swing device.

Inverting Shoulder Stand
Put your arms behind the top portion of the swing while sitting on it. With your legs in front of you, take a deep breath and lean your upper torso backwards. Open your legs far apart while doing this and wrap your legs on the top portion of the swing, letting your arms touch the floor. With this position, you are almost inverted with your legs wrapped around the top portion of the swing and your arms on the floor. Count up to 15, then revert back to an upward sitting position. Repeat as your stamina will allow.
Downward-Facing Dog
Try to lie down on the yoga swing with your stomach resting on the swing. Put your hands on the floor, and slowly lift your heels by bending your knees little by little. With your hands touching the floor and your legs suspended in the air, you will be on all fours with the swing. This exercise will mostly target your thighs.
Flying Fish
The flying fish is a spin on the inverting shoulder stand. To perform the flying fish yoga technique, get into an inverted shoulder stand and follow this by raising your torso. With your legs fully extended, inhale as deeply as possible while you lift your legs. Hold the position as long as possible and then perform it again and again until fatigued.
