Do You Have Testosterone Deficiency?

Are you tired all the time, have no desire or your sex drive has diminished well you could have testosterone deficiency. Read the symptoms and see what can be done.

With the daily stress, that we live under today, wives and girl friends may be wondering if their men have a testosterone deficiency. The biggest clue would be that their sex drive has diminished considerably. So if suddenly you have been wondering why your guy has not been chasing you as much as he use to or he is feeling tired all the time it may be he has a low testosterone level..

Some symptoms of low testosterone are:
Tiredness, lack of interest, no sex drive
Moodiness, depression
Soft erections, difficultly concentrating
Increased blood pressure, diabetes
Increased body fat, cholesterol levels increase

Now keep in mind of the age of your man because older men perhaps are going through menopause and that will decrease there testosterone levels. At age, 35-40 there is a 15% decline in the testosterone levels, and stress can jump it up to 60-70%. With chronic stress the testosterone level will be depleted and stay that way. Have your doctor perform a test to see if in fact you have low testosterone.

There is treatment for testosterone deficiency. There are injections that are administered every 2-3 weeks, or one can wear a testosterone patch on the body or on the scrotum, and there is a mucoadhesive material that is applied above the teeth twice a day. Talk to your doctor and see which method is best for you.

Now if you are considering testosterone replacement therapy you should use caution and it would be wise for any man to have a thorough prostate cancer screening before any therapy is starting.

There are side effects to the replacement therapy, usually the hormone therapy is quite safe but it has been know to have side effects such as:

Breast enlargements
Acne
Urination problems like slow stream
Sleep apnea
Decreased testicular size
Increased red blood cell count
Decreased sperm count

With any hormone therapy, it is important to do as your doctor says and follow up with blood tests every few months to be certain that the dose is correct. Dosages vary but usually your doctor will start you off small and then adjust as needed.

There is an oral form but it is not the best for your liver, and gels and injections are the desirable way to go. So again, talk it over with your doctor before you make any decisions.
