Easy Skincare for Everyone

No matter what your skin type is, this easy skincare routine will keep your skin clear and healthy.

Cleansing. Find a skin cleanser that is well suited to your skin type. A creamy cleanser is best for dry to normal skin. One that is gentle and contains no harsh ingredients but will remove dirt, makeup, and impurities without stripping your face of essential oils. For oily or acne prone skin, choose a clear or gel cleanser. Be careful not to cleanse more than twice a day. Those with oily skin have a tendency to overcleanse, stripping the skin of essential oils. A sign of overcleansing is skin that feels too tight and taut. Your skin should feel dewy.

Exfoliating. An important step in your skincare regimen. It removes dead skin that makes your skin look dull. There are many ways to exfoliate. On a daily basis, however, it is best to use facial scrubs which contain tiny grains to be rubbed on the skin gently. You can also use tretinoin, especially for older skin. Dermabrasion, skin peeling and the like may be done every few months.

Moisturizing. All types of skin need moisturizers to seal in the moisture and keep skin dewy and supple. Choose a non-greasy moisturizer for oily skin and a creamy one for dry skin. The skin around the eyes need moisturizing as well since it’s very thin and more susceptible to wrinkles. It’s good to get a light eye cream for that area, however, facial moisturizers work just as well. Apply your moisturizer while skin is damp to keep moisture in much like a saran wrap.

Using sunscreen. This is a must if you’re going out to protect your skin from sun damage and prevent premature aging. It’s better to have a moisturizer with sunscreen for daytime and another moisturizer specifically for night time.

Remember that any beauty routine works best when done consistently. You don’t need to buy expensive products thinking that they work better. Affordable products that are available in drugstores work just as well. Some dermatologists even swear by these cheaper products like cetaphil. Once in a while, pamper your skin with a facial.
