Fatigue: The Primary Complaints, the Causes and Natural Remedies
The number one symptom in many women in the age range of 45 to 55 is the decrease in energy level. Let’s examine the causes and some natural remedies to correct fatigue.
Working women not only put high demands on their bodies for 8 hours, they generally extend that well into the time after they arrive at home. One or more children have extra circular activities of some sort that require transporting them from that event to home. Meals don’t fix themselves, so preparation is in the mix too. Since we are not all nutritionists, the easier meals are not always the well balanced ones. Kitchen clean up slices into the evening very quickly with the clock ticking nearly 9 PM before the light is turned out in the galley. The utility lamp is stocked while a load of laundry is sorted and placed in the washer and yesterdays load is removed from the dryer for folding.
Hearing some news of Mom, who lives across town, sends you back into the car to tend to her needs before she is neglected for the night, your working hours and, and , and, and. When the car is finally getting close to home, the gas gauge is reading less than enough to even get you home, so the corner filling station secures your business this time.
Is it any wonder it is nearly midnight before your teeth get brushed and your head hits the pillow? Where did the hours go and furthermore this seems to be the routine 5 or 6 days out of the week. And women have the nerve to say they don’t have any energy?
Sleep is not comfortable as well as enough most nights. The pressure of the days events weighs heavily for relaxed sleep since many things are running around in the head to let it turn off completely.
Now the causes have been touched on so let’s put some natural remedies in place so these symptoms of fatigue can be lessened.
So often women try to do it all and most often times they accomplish that very well. The stamina is pulled from somewhere and they get the job done, period. Delegating is sometimes not possible, but if there is the slightest way car pooling can be done, at least an hour can go into the energy bank every once in a while. On nice days, children can walk, bike or congregate at a friends house until that friend’s parent shuttles your child back home for a break for you. When your time comes, you do the shuttling.
Give one day of no laundry, no drying and no folding of clothes. You can spend that time applying cream to your entire body after a soothing bubble bath. Taking care of your physical needs will do wonders for the energy level.
Learn to say “NO”. No to an unexpected meeting of the teachers to plan an outing that they can accomplish without you this time. No to a neighbor who attended your home decorator party so you feel the need to attend theirs. Anything that truly does not fit, don’t try to fit it into your life.
Schedule bedtime 15 minutes earlier than you generally retire for bed. Next week make it 1/2 hour so you finally feel the lifting of the lack of sleep since you are working on getting adequate sleep, finally. Most of us know how much sleep our bodies need. Give it !
Plan some meals on the weekends so on the days off, you can compile a balanced, healthy plan for the coming week. Proper nutrition will feed your body to restore the energy level you thought you lost.

Your description is more the life of a single woman or one with an uncaring husband or who is always working. Women working and having children make their own lives…it’s a choice. I agree with you that some need to find ways to make time for themselves, but many accept the lives as they are.
