Forever Young, Healthy, Energetic and Beauty: Never Too Late
It’s not too hard for you to live forever young, healthy, energetic, and beautiful. It’s attainable. It’s still not too late.
Well, you may ask me, “Chan, I’m old. How could I retrieve my young appearance?”
The “young”, and “beauty” that I emphasis here include both physical and spiritual elements. If you’re people age 50 and above, it’s impossible for you to get rid of all your wrinkles, and old spots. They will be there no matter how hard you think of ways to “kick them out”. This is because they’re natural signs showing you that you’re now stepping into the “old age” phase.
“Then, what on earth do you mean here?”
What I mean here is more coming from your inner strength and power. You may look old in your external appearance, but your strength can be as strong as a young person; your movement can be as energetic as a small child, and your thinking can be as sharper as a teenager. So now, you catch what I mean here?
If you adhere to my suggested points here, it’s not hard for you to live forever young, healthy, energetic and beauty. It’s attainable! It’s still not too late! Whether you’re a child, an adult, a patient, an elderly people or any other individuals, this health information is a useful guidance for you to stay longer too!
Over-consumption of Milk/ Diary Product is Detrimental to Your Health
Since childhood, my science teacher used to tell me that drinking milk or having any dairy products is highly beneficial to health. This health benefit needn’t explain here, as we all know that milk is a good source for both protein and calcium.
Perhaps, you don’t know that over-consumption of milk/diary product is detrimental to your health. The protein contained in milk and most dairy products are an obvious cause of food allergy for certain individuals. The large quantities of these assorted proteins, according to the latest clinical reports, have been the main cause why your stomach is stimulated to secrete additional amounts of acidic fluids as well as acidic substances that eventually intensify the formation of ulcers and swelling in your digestive system. Ailments like chronic rhinitis, chronic ear inflammation (otitis), swollen lymph glands, kidney stones and etc. are seen to show significant improvement when one stops consuming milk and dairy products.
Take note that the more milk and dairy products you take, the more proteins are absorbed in your body. This will prompt your body to “borrow” more calcium from the bone in order to maintain the acid-base equilibrium. Over time, your bones will suffer deficit in calcium, causing your bones break, brittle or rupture easily. And this situation will finally lead you to a consequence called osteoporosis.
How to “Kick Away” Chemical Residual from Your Foods?
If you want to eat raw vegetables and fruits without concerning much on their chemical residuals, you should first deal with the problem lingering around the issue of agricultural chemicals. Besides selecting your fresh vegetables and fruits carefully and properly by ensuring they’ve been grown without the addition of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers, here are some of my suggested points for you to consider:
- Search for a farmer who can grow vegetables and fruits for you.
- Of course, the simplest way is to grow the vegetables and fruits yourself. But, this is only applied if you’ve a land or you’ve some spaces at the backyard that are sufficient enough for you to grow beans, melons, spinaches, pumpkins, cucumbers, bananas, guavas and etc (to name a few here, you may also plant other vegetables and fruits that I don’t list here).
- Buy a device called OZONE Vegetable Detoxifier. While selecting the device, make sure that it’s made in accordance with the German manufacturing code. This is because German has the world’s stringent standards. Also, be sure that this device can disperse 200 to 250 mg of ozone per hour, but don’t choose the device with disperse speed exceeds 300 mg of ozone per hour, as this is particularly detrimental to your health.
Beware of Food Additives!
Dwelling in this artificial environment, we get sick easily. Our environment and foods have been modified drastically from its natural property, until one day, we’re alerted to have a relatively low immune system (quoted from my previous article entitled wondrous soup: enhance immune system, restore energy, accelerate healing and fight off diseases).
Due to the rapid progress in food industry, food chemistry and food processing technology, you can’t avoid yourself from eating these processed foods. From the snack foods, cakes, biscuits, instant foods, fast foods, and etc, and almost to everywhere you dine, either cautiously or incautiously, all the foods you eat are packed with food additives. These so-called food additives are claimed to be added to the foods for the purpose of adding aroma enhancer, coloration, preservatives, stabilizers, anti-oxidizers, and seasoning. Apparently, these food additives are widely used in the procedure of food preparation, manufacturing, packaging, shipping and storage. It’s inevitably from being accidentally eating such foods! That’s why I always encourage people to detoxify their bodies for the overall health performance.
Well, the problem does not just arise from these food additives added foods, as our markets nowadays, are always flooded with synthetic chemical added foods. That is to say, food additives and synthetic chemical substances have seen to design to extend a product’s freshness and period, or to make the color, aroma, flavor more appealing to the consumers. None of these artificial substances entail health benefits. Instead, they may be dangerous cancer-inducing agents. Though the government, organization or institution has listed the legal standards in governing the usage of food additives, there are still certain amounts of these “deadly” substances that will pile up gradually in your body as a “nuclear reactor” that might “explore” at anytime and at anyplace. Therefore, if you want to prevent these chemical toxins from entering your body, the appropriate way is to cut down the consumption of these foods. Meanwhile, you should detoxify your body at least twice a year (read further details on detoxification from my previous articles entitled How to detoxify your body and how to detoxify your body: part two).
Add “Rainbow” to Your Daily Diet
Remember to add “rainbow” colored foods in your daily diet. Read more details on this subtopic from my previous articles entitled The secrets of youth, health and longevity: how to live healthily to 100 or beyond (page 5 and 6) and five great colors for excellent health.
Check Your Feces and Urine Every Day
Feces and urine are two most important health indicators as they show final product of the digestion that reflect your present health condition in general. Kindly refer to my previous articles entitled Is your urine healthy?, Are your feces healthy? and Are your feces healthy?2 to help you check on your feces and urine, to confirm whether they’re healthy or not. Both feces and urine are inter-related as they reflect the diet you took, diseases or underlying symptoms and your health status. Therefore, you should observe your feces and urine in terms of their colors and conditions, so that you can prompt yourself to see a doctor for any abnormal conditions as described in my articles listed here. Try including this feces-urine observation as one of your daily routines!
Include Cereal Staples and Other Multi-grains in Your Daily Diet
There have been well documented that eating the five basic cereal foods (simple staple grains such as rice, wheat, corn, millet, and etc.) will nourish the “true qi” (According to Chinese medication bible, this type of “qi” nourishes the internal organs and circulates in and around the Meridians) of your five major internal organs (Five Organs here refer to five Yin organs [heart, liver, spleen, kidneys and lungs] which store the body’s building materials, while five Yang organs [the small and large intestines, the gallbladder, bladder and stomach] control bodily function in human body). The bible further emphases that, “of the ten-thousand things born under heaven, the five cereal crops are the finest.” This statement simply means that the five main cereals and other coarse grains are beneficial to your spleen. Only when your spleen is thoroughly nourished, your stomach will stay in health. This in turns brings to the well-being of your body.
Unrefined multi-grain foods in fact provide your body with starches, vitamins, minerals, trace elements and other health-promoting dietary fiber. The fiber here is important as it helps to absorb bile secretion, toxins, acidic wastes, and other cancer-inducing substances. When all these unwanted substances are eliminated out of your body, the health risk agents (such as absorbing oils, fats, lipids and cholesterol that tend to attach to the cell wall of the organs) that cause the incident rate of intestinal, rectal and colon cancer can be reduced to its minima. This explains why fiber is generally good for promoting health.
As the starches contained in cereals and grains are “resistant starches” in nature, and thus they don’t cause you gain more weight. Furthermore, your small intestines will take longer time to break them down before digesting them, so your stomach will feel full for a longer time that will definitely curb your desire to eat to help you control your body weight efficiently. Additionally, the breakdown of these starches also stimulates the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria which are good to maintain the health of your intestines. The presence of these bacteria will also accelerate the process of breaking down foods while eliminating the “rubbish” from your body.
Enzymes are Root for All Living Lives
Yes, it’s true that “Enzymes are root for all living lives!” Why enzymes are so important for you? Countless metabolic actions must come into play before your body can operate normally and efficiently. Here comes the importance of the enzymes.
Enzymes help to protect and repair the damaged body parts (include cells, tissues, organs, and body system), accelerate and eliminate waste substance (include toxin, acidic substance, remnant of feces, deposit of fat, lipid and cholesterol, and other toxicological substances), shred of unwanted weight gain, adjust imbalance internal secretions, promote and stimulate cellular metabolism, enhance immune system and regulate the physical constitution of your body (get more details on enzymes from my previous article entitled some useful facts about enzymes).
When one grows older, or when one is facing stress, emotional disturbance and excessive living pressure, one will suffer a “deficit” in enzymes. This is one of the reasons why they get sick. The deficiency in enzymes causes your metabolism suffers greatly. That’s why you feel tired, lack of strength, unwanted weight gain, weaken, indigestion, poor appetite, imbalanced internal secretions, flatulence and other underlying symptoms.
The best way to furnish your body with enzymes is to eat appropriate amount of vegetables and fruits. To know how much you should eat, kindly refer to my previous article entitled The secrets of youth, health and longevity: how to live healthily to 100 or beyond (page 4 & 5). Not only do these foods boost your body storage in carbohydrates, vitamins and essential minerals, but also they provide your body with a sufficient supply of enzymes. Bananas, sprouts, avocadoes, mangoes, pineapples are some of the foods that are rich in enzymes. Still, if you feel your dietary supply of enzymes is insufficient, you can make your own enzymes (refer to my previous articles entitled two powerful enzymes for a beautiful body and health and fantastic remedies for diabetes and hypertensive patients) or you may also consider buying commercially sold synthetic enzyme supplements.
Don’t Eat Out-of-season Foods!
In Chinese medical field, we believe that all ailments are due to the three causes: internal causes, external causes, and a cause that is neither internal nor external. Internal causes here refer to human’s moods or emotions (such as worries, sorrow, panic, fear, shock, negative thought, afraid, and etc.); such emotional fluctuation will indirectly influence the entire state of one’s health condition. External causes have to do with variations in weather or climate conditions (such as humidity, heat, dryness, cold, summer heat, wind, and etc.); when our body is unable to adjust in accordance to a sudden or a dramatic weather/ climate change, we will fall sick. The third cause has to do with unexpected events (such as over-eating, food poisoning, suffering an injury due to an accidental knock/shake, eating out-of-season foods, drinking harmful substances, and etc.); in most cases, people fall sick very easily by eating out-of-season foods.
We all know that fruits and vegetables are harvested at different seasons/times. However, due to the advancement of agricultural technology, we still can savor any kind of those foods that are harvested at different seasons/times at any time. The problem concerns here are that whether the food you’re eating is out-of-season or not. It’s a rule of thumb that foods will vary quantitatively with seasonal shift, and hence it seems to be important for you to eat in accordance to the rhythm of the nature.
Cutting Down Your Meat Consumption
Eating more meats does you no good but harm your health. Previously, I wrote three articles on the facts of the meat, you can read Think before you eat, The amazing facts about the meat and Eating more meats causing bad mood for your further understanding.
In school, you’re taught to eat more vegetables than meats for a healthier life. However, most people have a hard time to overcome their desires to eat meats. Here are some of my recommended practical ways to help you change your dietary habits gradually:
- If you still can’t overcome your desire to eat meat, then restrict your intake to fish only.
- Fish should only be consumed once or twice a week.
- Make sure you’ve your dinner before 6 p.m. You’re not encouraged to have heavy meal after 6 p.m. as this will add an extra workload to your digestive system, which may eventually cause damage to your body’s organs.
- Reduce your meat consumption to one meal per day, and only eat one kind of meat at a time. This will help to extend the time lapse between meals that include meat.
- Make sure that you either boil or steam meat, but not grill or charcoal.
- Limit your meat consumption to 15% of your daily total dietary consumption.
- Only eat meats at the very end of a meal.
Chew Your Foods Properly and Slowly
Chewing is a good exercise for both your temples and brain as well. Try placing your hands on your temples while chewing; you’ll come to realize that when you’re chewing, your temples are moving as well. This is because while chewing, there’s also an activity takes place in your brain. The movement of temples, undoubtedly, enlivening your brain’s cells; and this is important for enhancing brain development in both adults and children besides warding off/ delaying senility in elderly people.
Also, when you’re biting and chewing food, the secretion of saliva is stimulated. This saliva not only does it contain digestive enzymes to help your stomach assimilates foods better, but also it has a strong antiseptic property which helps to eradicate the cancer-inducing substances that may contain in the food you’re eating.
Careful and proper chewing also aids in the reduction of your mental pressure. This can be explained as that the process of chewing food helps release stress and pressure that modern people are facing nowadays. When the tension is released, one will feel cheerful, exciting, energetic and content. Therefore, for each mouthful of food you eat at every meal, be sure to chew 30 – 50 times. Remember not to wolf down your food as this is not a healthy eating habit. The longer you chew, the healthier you’ll be. You’ll definitely feel more youthful out of this result, I assure you.
Beware! Too Little Dietary Fiber Consumption Might Lead You to Intestinal Cancer!
Do you think you’re blessed with abundant highly -refined/ processed foods? Yes, your taste buds have “an enjoyable moment” to “enjoy” the “feast” with “strange taste” deriving from these abnormal foodstuffs, but in contrary, you’ve unconsciously put yourself to a dilemma of being deficiency in the nutritional fiber, which will definitely cause an imbalance state of your digestive system.
What do you understand as a dietary fiber? It’s a substance that is stored in most plants and due to their structural complexity, so it’s hard to be broken down by the human digestive tract enzymes. It’s also found to have contained neither caloric nor nutritional values. If so, what on earth is this dietary fiber for your health? Its presence is deemed necessary to stimulate your intestinal peristalsis. This is particularly important when the food is being digested while traveling through the intestinal pathway. The contact with the body cells and tissues in this pathway helps extract out cholesterol, fat, lipid, cancer-inducing agents and other toxicological substances, which of course, reduce the rate of the occurrence of intestinal, colon and rectal cancer.
Furthermore, when your body assimilates sufficient amount of fiber, your stomach will take longer time to discharge its contents, giving you a feel of satisfying, comfort and energetic while promoting weight control. This effect will also decrease the absorption rate of cholesterol and triglycerides, and cutting down your tooth decay as well. So, make sure that you eat appropriate amount of dietary fiber to credit your body with this good score.
Have Some Good Water to Boost Your Health and Immune System
We all need air to breathe in order to survive. Apart from the air, we also need water in addition to foods to survive in this lovely planet. Water is the fluid that replenishes our body for the water loss due to evaporation, urinating and sweating to help us stay in hydration. One should drink 3,000 cc of water as a daily requirement within the three prime periods of the day: after getting up in the morning, about 3p.m. in the afternoon, and between 7 to 9p.m. in the evening. During the summer months of July and October, you should also increase the intake of water accordingly.
You’re recommended to take 1,260 cc of warm water/ warm sea-salt water immediately after getting up in the morning to stimulate your intestinal tract and stomach. This has proved to yield excellent results for both normal individual and patient.
Nevertheless, for those who suffer from kidney ailments (such as kidney failure, kidney stone and other kidney-related diseases), coronary disease, gallbladder ailments (such as gallbladder failure, gallbladder stone and other gallbladder-related diseases), edema, or cirrhosis of the liver, please drink water in accordance to your doctor’s instruction.
As for your information, 4a.m. is termed as a “deadly time”. Why I say so? At this time, your blood density and viscosity levels are attained at their highest positions. If you drink 200 cc of water one hour before sleeping at night, then you can help your body bit this “deadly time” by reducing the blood density and viscosity levels to the healthy positions. Also read The secrets of youth, health and longevity: how to live healthily to 100 or beyond (page 11 & 12) from my previous article to grab some important note of drinking water.
It’s very important to know that drinking water is not just for quenching thirst, but drinking water also provides body with essential minerals and trace elements. The water that you drink should have its original content while being free from carbonation, pollution, heavy metals, and extraneous substances. Healthy or good water should have a slightly alkaline property at its alkalinity level of 7.4. Besides from this pH requirement, it should be in accordance to have fresh drinking water standards: contain sufficient amount of oxygen, molecular structure is tiny, active and have high density, and no electric-power filter is involved in its processing.
While Eating Fruits and Vegetables, Remember to Eat Their Nutritional Skins
Many people tend to throw away the nutritional skins of the fruits and vegetables (such as radish, carrot, Chinese yam, burdock root, pumpkin, potato, pear, apple, muskmelon, and etc.) as they perceive that the skins have zero nutritional values. You’ll be amazed if I tell you that the outer skin is actually the most nutritious part for most of the fruits and vegetables. Well, you don’t have to look at me with your mouth opening widely. The fact is the fact; you can’t change it, can you?
Generally, most part of the inner flesh for the fruit and vegetable is acidic in nature, whereas the peel/skin is always alkaline in nature. From this point, I can conclude that every part of the fruit and vegetable has its own unique nutritional property, whether it is its peel, flesh, pulp, stalk, stem, root or leaf. So, you should eat the whole part of the fruits and vegetables if they can be eaten to promote the establishment of a healthy acid-base equilibrium which will eventually lead to the fullest healing and detoxification effects. Below are some of the examples for your reference:
- Orange: The white-color part of an orange peel is beneficial for the respiratory system.
- Banana: Banana peel is beneficial for the heart. While preparing for this purpose, make sure that you wash the bananas thoroughly, slice them across into thin circles, and keep leaving a tiny ring of peel for each slice. In this manner, will they be easily for you to consume together with the peel.
- Lemon: The pectin found in lemon peel can lower cholesterol.
Note: If you’re eating fruits and vegetables that have a residual of pesticide, herbicide or any other chemical additions, you’re not encouraged to eat their skins. The rule of eating skin here is only applied for those home-grown or organically grown fruits and vegetables that are free from any chemical residuals.
No More Stomach Pain, Please!
Modern people are driven crazy by a fast pace of lifestyle, work pressure, sleep disorder, unhealthy diet and abnormal living surrounding. All of these conditions have formulated one of the reasons that you suffer stomach upset, emotional disturbance and health annoyance. The symptom of stomachache, according to the Chinese medical perspective, has seen to be an obstruction in the flow of “qi” in the spleen and stomach. That means the obstruction of the flow of “qi”, in a broader context, according to the ancient Chinese practitioners, is a major cause to the development of many diseases modern people are facing nowadays.
The obstruction of the flow of “qi” can be adjusted by staying in a healthy diet. When you help your body to undergo a detoxification process as documented in my previous articles entitled How to detoxify your body and how to detoxify your body: part two, your stomach and intestinal tract will be purified gradually, so that peristalsis can restore back in your stomach to help it works properly. Once the peristalsis is functioned normally, the symptoms like bloating, nausea and constipation will later go off. Additionally, the resume function of the normal digestive system will undoubtedly allow the absorption of a full range of nutritional elements (such as vitamins A and C, trace elements, and etc. from food) at its highest performance. As a result, the mucous membranes lining the walls of your stomach will be repaired and finally back to its track to function effectively, so that your body can assimilate the nutrients at its maxima.
Besides altering your diet pattern, it’s also very important for you to find ways to eliminate stress from your life. The practical way for stress management is to let your mind and body relax thoroughly by sleeping, taking nap, walking, or listening to music. (For more details on stress management, you can read from my previous article entitled The secrets of youth, health and longevity: how to live healthily to 100 or beyond (page 17). In this way, you can say “goodbye” to your stomach pain and feel great!
Excessive Sugar Turns You Into an Old Person
To some people, sugar has an enticing sweetness that is always tempting and irresistible. But, the consumption of sugar has caused the increased blood sugar in diabetics, hypertensive patients, and the sugar intake can even worsen the existing health condition. Over the time, the intake of excessive sugar can put you into a critical health consequence. This is because the healthy body fluids which are weak alkaline in nature will be modified by the acidic property of sugar, causing the healthy body fluids become either weak acidic or neutral. Due to this chemical change, your body cells will age faster than their actual age. One of the symptoms that you can observe is whitened hair or your hair turns into a lack-luster shade.
When sugar is absorbed into your body, it will indulge the secretion of insulin in order to transform the sugar into fat. Such transformation will definitely have a deleterious effect on your normal appetite by hindering the absorption of minerals, vitamins and other nutritional substances. Eventually, this condition leads you to gain unwanted and excessive weight.
Numerous clinical reports have explained the danger of excessive sugar consumptions as the high risk of getting gallstones, urine tumors and mammary gland cancer. As explained earlier, sugar will stimulate the secretion of insulin, particularly in your stomach, which is observed to cause the stomach’s mucous membranes wearing off over the time, and thus resulting in gastritis and stomach ulcers.
Know Your Body’s Schedule Well
Our body is like a clock (Read more details in my previous article entitled Your body works like a clock?). That’s right! Human body works in accordance to its natural laws and time patterns. Any contradictions to this obligatory prerequisite will deserve the punishment for being sick, pain, physical and mental discomfort. Nevertheless, if you adhere to this so-called law of its physiological clock, you’ll definitely reward with a good physical and mental health for an optimum body’s maintenance and recuperation. There are three prime periods of time for your body that every one of you should pay special attention to:
- The first is between 5 and 7 o’clock in the morning. This is when the large intestinal meridian (According to Chinese traditional medicine, the body’s internal organs are governed by acupuncture channels called meridians; each of which become most active at specific hours of the day or night) discharges the waste and hence it’s the great time to get rid of toxins, chemicals and acidic substances out of your body.
- The second is between 9 to 11 o’clock at night. This is when the Triple-burner Meridian’s (The Triple-burner Meridian runs from the left eye to the left fingertip. In Chinese medicine, this actual Triple-burner is a set of “organs” in the trunk corresponding to the part above your diaphragm, the part below the belly button, and the space between these two) immunological functions better resulting in an optimum recuperation. At this time, your body is beginning to enter a phase of resting.
- The third is between 11p.m. to 3a.m. This is when the liver and the gall bladder Meridian enter the phase of restoration. At this crucial time, when your body is fully charged without any disturbances, the liver recuperates faster and new blood is created. It’s an important note for you that you should stay in a deep sleep within these periods of times as a crucial requirement to stay healthy, younger and energetic.
Hence, those who suffer from chronic diseases should particularly grab this golden opportunity for a better health condition and health improvement. It should be gone to the rule for you to sleep at 9p.m.
Deposit Kelp in Your Body
Kelp, also known as kombu in Japanese, is a nutritious sea plant that has become one of the secrets for staying longer life. It’s loaded with a number of minerals (such as iron, manganese, copper, magnesium, calcium, potassium, silicium, and other trace elements) that are highly important to your body, a large amount of iodine, protein, vitamins (such as vitamins A, B and C) and other nutrients that can be assimilated easily by your body. By eating kelp, you can help your body boost the metabolism, regulate cellular oxidation, and expel unwanted substances (such as radiation, lipid, fat, toxins, waste substance) from your body’s system. This sea vegetable has proved to help your body staying in a state of weak alkalinity (healthy body is in a state of weak alkaline) by transforming acidic substances into alkaline and non-toxic substances. Due to that the Kelp contains a significant amount of dietary fiber, it will expand once it enters your large intestinal tract and it then stimulates beneficial bacteria to work on sediments lingering in your large intestine. This situation will undoubtedly contribute to a better health.
Of course, it’s true that our ocean has been heavily polluted, so it’ll definitely cause pollution on other sea plants like seaweed, kelp and etc. Therefore, it’s very important for you to read the label of the product with its certified information carefully in order to ensure its cleanliness before purchasing.
Shred Off Your Excess Weight
As you all aware that the excess weight (exceed the normal standard) will cause you suffer from chronic diseases (such as obesity, hypertension, stroke, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and etc.). You may even run into high risk of getting cancers and unknown tumors. Well, I believe, many of you have squeezed your brain to think of how to put on weight and some may have even struggled with weight-loss diets or programs.
The foremost thing to shred off your unwanted fat, lipid or weight is to help your body metabolism to return to its normal track. When your body metabolism is functioning regularly and efficiently, you’re stepping into a process of putting weight. Congratulation, mate! Now, you pose me a question, “Chan, how to do this? I hate to see my “luggage belly”, “buffalo body”, and “hippopotamus look-like body posture”….”
“Well, my dear friend, to achieve this goal, you should first eat healthily and at the same time, you should detoxify your body. I have two references for you to detoxify your body (How to detoxify your body and how to detoxify your body: part two) and I plan to write more on this topic in the future to help you shedding off your extra weight. Why detoxification is important then? The detoxification here will eliminate unwanted acidic, lipid, fat and other waste substances that have taken calculation in your weight. Besides detoxification, your diet should include healthy diet and healthy eating habits (as suggested in my previous article here (page 2, 3, 4,5,6, 7, 8, 9 & 10), and the intake of enzymes too, are essential to help your body’s metabolic functions regularly and efficiently so that the process in eliminating toxins and wastes is boosted to its higher performance. If you follow my suggestions here, you’re assured to lose one to two pounds a month. As a reward, you will look younger, healthier and more attractive.”
Having Problem with Your Sleep?
Sleeping is a fundamental rule to stay in a good health. Thus, getting enough sleep (including a nap and a rest) is essential towards better health and enhanced immune system. One’s body’s organs and immunological system will response extremely poor if one gets insufficient sleep. This in turns decreases the body’s ability to perform efficiently until one finds himself or herself “burst into fire” easily and their mood will definitely fluctuate invariably throughout the day. Read more important health information about sleep from my previous article here (page 14).
Many have asked me how to solve the sleep disorder that has seemed to trigger their health and emotions. Here, I recommend some practical ways to help you sleep well. Noted that you should follow these seven points I recommended here appropriately to improve your sleep’s quality. By doing these steps correctly, I assure you for a better quality sleep.
- Make sure you sleep before 11p.m. every night.
- Make sure that your sleeping environment is good and comfortable. That means it must be well-ventilated, along with appropriate lighting, warmth and humidity. Don’t switch on any lights in your bedroom while you’re sleeping as this will decrease your immune system and stimulate your brain (when the light is on, your brain cells will stay active) to stay active, making your brain cannot rest well. Also, make sure you choose bedding that is made of natural materials instead of artificial materials.
- Prior to sleeping, that is 10 minutes before your sleep, do an abdominal breathing. Try breathing in through your nostrils and out through your mouth for 5 times.
- Don’t eat two hours before your sleep.
- Keep yourself in a happy state of mood, but not over-excited. You may consider listening to some natural sounds (such as waterfall, sea, and etc.).
- Get accustomed to sleep in the nude. This is important to promote muscle extension and also to help the blood circulation functions smoothly and efficiently.
- Before going to your bed, get yourself soaking in a hot bath (temperature about 40 -50 degree Celsius) for 10- 20 minutes. You’re recommended to add some coarser sea salt or slices of charcoal (charcoal here refers to those made of halved bamboo sections which is usually used widely to purify water in Asia) to your bath water for a better sleep and health result.
Don’t Kill Your Health with Your Bad Mood or Negative Thought!
Do you know that bad mood and negative thought can kill your health? You’re not going to see gray hair in the mirror, if you think negatively. So, what on earth to live a boring life if you can make your outlook youthful, go out young, always get yourself connected with people and current issue to leave “a good looking corpse”? (Quoted from my precious article The secrets of youth, health and longevity: how to live healthily to 100 or beyond (page 20)
If you risk your life getting angry, your blood will more likely to flow very slowly and you may wonder why you suddenly have tumors developed in your body. It’s a fact that getting angry will lead you to get tumors easily (Read more explanations from my previous article here (page 18 & 19). Specifically, bad mood and negative thought will greatly influence one’s health. Nevertheless, laughing is a natural booster that does you good health. By involving yourself into a good belly laugh on a regular basis, your immunological system will be strengthened (Read more health benefits of laughing from my previous article here (page 19 & 20). A good and enhanced immune system will definitely lead you to a state of physical and mental comfort. In contrary, a vulnerable immune system causes you sick, discomfort, pain and angry. Therefore, one should always practice a good mood and positive thought at all times and places by constantly feeling happy, gratitude, appreciation and admiration to God. Here, I’ll teach you a “good cheer method” to make you feel happier with every chuckle to help your body stays in an optimum health. Here are 3 steps that you should follow my instructions appropriately and correctly in a sequence.
Firstly, you recall a sweet memory that make you feel great, happy and satisfy in your life. Now, laugh as loud as you could (but not too hard, remember that moderation is a key element here) for as many as 5 times: Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!
. Next, laugh 5 times again, but this time, while you’re laughing, please stamp your both feet on the ground for 5 times: Dong!Dong!Dong!Dong!Dong! Now, smile a bit and show me your best face outlook. Stand still, relax, Chan is going to take you a picture! Laugh “Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!Ha!” and stamp “Dong!Dong!Dong!Dong!Dong!” alternately for about 5 times, and now you clap your hands for 5 times: Clap!Clap!Clap!Clap!Clap! (Note: Do this at least twice in a day to promote a better health. This method is suitable for all ages, no matter whether you’re a healthy person, a small kid or a chronic patient or any individuals that I don’t describe here).
Practice Healthy Living Lifestyle
Limit the consumption of any alcoholic drinks and reduce/ stop smoking (read more details from my previous article here [page 16 & 17]). Walk whenever possible instead of driving. You’re advised to walk at least 10 minutes a day, but you’re recommended to walk for 20 to 30 minutes according to your present health (read more details from my previous article here [page 15 & 16]). Besides walking, you have another alternative to do a stretching exercise. This can be done by following the instruction here: Gently stretch and contract your fingers and toes. Next, you progress the stretches to your wrists and ankles by making circles with the joints. After that, bend your elbows, bring your hands to your shoulders, bend your knee, one at a time and now proceed up towards your chest. Next, bring your arms up to your ears and down, gently stretch your shoulder muscles. This is followed by raising each of your leg, and it must be straightened as far as you could reach. Repeat these stretches 6 to 8 times to promote a healthy circulation.
Have Faith and Believe in God
For the discussion of this subtopic, I quoted from my precious article entitled The secrets of youth, health and longevity: how to live healthily to 100 or beyond (page 18 ):
Many scientific researchers have revealed that clergymen, nuns and monks are among the longest-lived men and women as compared to people who do not have faith in God. Their life expectancy is recorded to be excess 100 years old. In a similar manner, most centenarians have documented to have some kind of regular religious practice or belief.
Madame Chiang Kai-shek is another example here. She was diagnosed for numerous ailments, including breast cancer, but she outlived all her contemporary rivals. Do you know why? She credited her life fully to her religious faith. She said that she rose at dawn for an hour of prayer each day for the sake of her good health.
Final remark:
Make sure you do as suggested in this article every day to promote optimum health. Promise me, OK? I care for your health, so please don’t spoil your health. I’d like to see you healthy, beauty and younger than your age.

You really know how to pick a title, don’t you? Sounds like you have the perfect formula of happiness hehe. I don’t expect to look young forever, but I do hope to be as healthier as I can and I agree we must pay attention to different aspects (food, lifestyle, spiritual life, etc).

Great article. People spend billions with cosmetic surgery to take care of the outside of their bodies while their inside oxidizes because of free radicals. Fruits & Veges and foods high in antioxidants have the ability to absorb these free radicals that cause disease, high blood pressure, bad chlosterol and many other health ailments. Now, you have have healthy dark decadent chocolate with low fat, low sugar and ORAC scores that were off the charts when tested by Brunswick Labs. The health testimonials are pouring in. Take a look at http://www.SimplyPureBliss.com for information. Absolutely delicious; diabetic friendly, gluten free and unbelievable.

Chan,You are right on target but I didn’t see that you mentioned salt. Over use of salt one of the most harmful things in the diet. It causes high blood pressure among other things, and heart failure. You have very good advise to follow.

To Ruby Hawk,
Thanks for reminding me. Ya, I agree to you. Over-consumption of salt is also detrimental to our health as it is one of the main culprits to most of the chronic diseases. Thanks for your info again!

Chan

What I got to read was a well done, well written, well researched article. But many of the pages did not want to come up and read with errors on page. I find ballroom dancing keeps me young, healthy and my mind sharp. Keep up the good work. I will try and read this again another day.

Great article and yes it does pay to look at labels. It makes that beautiful desert in the supermarket not quite so appealing when you discover it shares the same ingredients as used in pesticides!

Thank you for this well presented and informative article. The one thing that really stands out-is society’s over consumption of meat. We eat a steak after 5pm or 6pm ,not realizing the hard work it puts on our digestive system. Waking up tired in the morning may well indicate an over consumption of meat.
God bless you CHAN for the energies that you put into your advice on health and living. You are so thourough in making sure our bodies, soul and mind are striving for health and longeviety.
I’m happy to have open up your writes!

My goodness! Great information at just the time I needed it. I am probably a sufferer of celiac disease and I was fretting over the lack of milk along with gluten and (especially with milk) afraid my calcium absorbtion would be impaired.
Thank you so much!
