Garlic: Natural Wonder?

Garlic is considered a natural wonder by many people around the world. Is it? You decide.

Throughout history garlic has been used for everything from fighting vampires to curing the common cold. The Chinese, Egyptians, Greeks, Vikings and Phoenicians used garlic regularly for medicinal purposes, even the Native Americans used it to treat stomach problems.

The ancient peoples of the world recognized garlic as powerful herb. It was even reportedly used by the Europeans during the Bubonic Plague years to boost immunity and is still used world wide for its immunity boosting properties. The Russians used it to treat influenza and the American colonists used garlic to rid themselves of parasites.

With the development of antibiotics and penicillin garlic has been largely ignored as a medical treatment. It’s only recently that garlic is making a come back in the general population. As more and more people look to using herbs to prevent sickness garlic is again becoming popular.

Garlic is easily available in many forms. There are fresh cloves that can be chopped or crushed for cooking. A pure juice is available as well as capsules (powdered garlic) and pearls (capsulated garlic oil).
