How to Detoxify Your Body

Toxins are accumulated in our body day by day either through our diet or the surrounding polluted air that we breathe in. The accumulation of toxins may put ourselves into a critical health state if we do not take any initiative to help our body undergoing the detoxification process.

High cholesterol foods, trans-fat foods, food additives, air toxic emissions, vehicular emissions, haze and many more contributory factors are reasons that explain why our life is at huge treat of toxicological substances. Every second, every minute our body is exposed to a dangerous and deadly toxin. The toxin residues penetrate deep into our body quietly and later hide in the cells, tissues, muscles, and organs. Our large consumption of poultry meat and other animal based foods has caused us sickness with the common symptoms such as acne, bad breath, constipation, insomnia, weight gain or obesity, and other underlying symptoms.

The symptoms of having a ball-shape body at the lower abdominal part, rough and dull skin appearance, loss concentration, loss memory and for no reason we get irritated, angry or depressed easily are all consequences describing toxin accumulation in our body. In fact, the toxin residues are rubbish not being digested or excreted by our body and thus remaining in our body to later posing many health-related problems. These “junk” if left ignored in our body may turn to other stimulating agents that might have worsened the existing health condition of the patients and simultaneously they might weaken our immune system to fight off the germs in our body.

Oh, no, the acnes came out from your skin! You feel pain when touching on them. The mouth ulcers lead you to an extremely bad temper. And the story of the mouth ulcer is not ending here, as it keeps on spreading until all your mouth has more painful “cracks.” The other thing that irritates you is your feces. You keep on shouting in the toilet, “Oh, my god! What’s wrong with my feces today? All turn hard and smelly!” When you encounter someone at your workplace or any places, you find yourself bursting into anger more easily. You are in fact, not in a good mood! It seems like the hot weather outside has worsened your feeling. And you ask yourself again, “What’s wrong with me?” Well, my dear friend, do you know that all the drama scripts that are screening lively in your life is a signal from your body telling you that you are in a state of DANGEROUS. What kind of the danger is it? Frankly speaking, your body is bathed in a deep “toxic” state.

Now, you may ask me, “Chan, what am I going to do with this poisonous body?” “Well, you should go for a thorough detoxification!” a simple reply from me. Detoxification is not a new terminology for you to learn. Many of us came across this topic before this article was written, but we tend to forget its importance and role to our health. You are advised to learn how to detoxify toxins from your body in order to avoid putting yourself into a critical health circumstance. For sake of health, every one of us should spend some time to undergo the detoxification process that will aid in cleansing our body from any harmful or toxicological substances.

You may find a wide range of healthcare products which promote body detoxification flooded in the market. Then you keep on asking which is good among them and which is to choose from? Let me tell you that you do not have to trouble yourself with this selection. In fact, our body has a set of very good detoxification system to help us get rid of dangerous substances. As long as you know how to make use of it, you will win in this “detoxification war” to achieve your desired effects. Prior to this, please do a self-test to diagnose whether you need to go for detoxification or not.

Below is a set of self-test questionnaire to let you know whether you need to go for detoxification or not. The questionnaire may also help you to understand and communicate with your body better so that undivided attention can be given promptly.

  • You are unable to wake up naturally from the bed in the morning but have to depend on the alarm clock to wake you up. After getting up from the bed, you always suffer from weaken and fatigue limbs. You may feel like you have not enough slept, and might have a feeling to return to the bed to sleep again. You may also feel dizzy, headache, back pain or you feel very weak enough to get up from the bed. (5 marks)
  • When you comb your hair, some of your hairs fall off your head. (5 marks)
  • You are suffering from rheumatism. (10 marks)
  • Your lumbar abdomen appears in a bulging curved shape. (10 marks)
  • You are always having a problem with your bowel action and diarrhea. You might have a difficulty to defecate. That means it will always take you more than one hour to poop. And your feces are not in a healthy shape. Compare the healthy and unhealthy feces by reading my article here. (5 marks)
  • You are always suffering from respiratory related diseases which include coughing, flu, sinusitis, nasal polyps, nasal inflammation, running nose and sore throat. You might also have difficulty in breathing. To know about these respiratory related diseases, read my article here. (5 marks)
  • Your face and other parts of your skins appear rough and dull. (5 marks)
  • You are more likely to have an itchy skin whenever there isa change of the season. (5 marks)
  • After working for one hour, you feel very weak, exhausted or your chest may feel a shortness of breath or dyspnea. In some cases, the sufferers may have an acute dyspnea that involves lung and breathing disorders, cardiovascular disease, or chest trauma. (5 marks)
  • You have a terrible temper. You get irritated or upset easily over small matters or for no reasons you get angry and annoyance. (5 marks)
  • You have no appetite to eat. You may have eaten a bit, but you have a feeling of vomiting out the food that you have swallowed. You feel no interest to eat at all as the food appears to be tasteless or unattractive to you. (10 marks)
  • You are always experiencing insomnia or other types of sleep disorders. Your sleep quality is extremely bad. Even you may have slept on the bed, but you always engage in a nightmare every night causing your brain and body not being rested thoroughly. (10 marks)
  • Your immune system is extremely lower as you have at least two or three times experiencing fever, flu, influenza, running nose and other sickness in a week. (5 marks)

Next, add up all the marks you get from this self-diagnose test and see the results below.

  1. If your accumulation mark is below 20, it tells you that your body has fewer toxins that are not hazardous to your health
  2. If your accumulation mark is 20 and above, it tells you that your body has a substantial amount of toxins accumulated
  3. If your accumulation mark is 40 and above, it tells you that your body has a large amount of toxins accumulated. It isa warning that you should not ignore as your body’s condition just lies close to the border line of the dangerous level.
  4. If your accumulation mark is 60 and above, it tells you that your body has become a huge dumpsite of toxins which put you in a critical health state. If left ignored, the accumulated toxins may lead to certain chronic diseases or adverse symptoms. If you are a patient, you should aware that this condition may have triggered and worsened your existing health problem.

Those who have the conditions as listed in (2) and (3) are advised to arrange time to let your body undergo the detoxification process, while those with condition listed in (4) must go for a thorough detoxification immediately. Though those with condition listed in (1) have the least impact of the toxin accumulation, they are advised to go for detoxification to promote an optimum health.

Lung Detoxification

Lungs are the organ that is more likely to become a dump site for dirt, germs, tiny particles, suspended substances in the air. Therefore, it is not surprisingly to find more dirt and tiny particles attached to the surface of the lungs. In a nutshell, the lungs are the place where toxin accumulated more easily than other parts of our body. This is because the daily breathing will take in about 8,000 liters of air into the lungs. When we breathe, the dirt, suspended tiny particles, bacteria, virus or any harmful foreign substances might have entered into our lungs. Not only they will harm our lungs, but also they will get our blood vessels clogged easily and subsequently causing the poor blood circulation.

Method

Coughing is used as a method to get rid of toxins from the lungs. The first thing to do is to search for a place with a refreshing and fresh air. This detoxification method is best to do in the early morning before 10.00 a.m. or after the rain stops. Choose either period that suits you at your ease. Now, you have to do a deep breathing. While doing a deep breathing, raise up your hands in a V shape gradually upwards to the sky as shown in the above picture. Next, you have to make yourself coughing suddenly while falling off your hands rapidly downwards to the ground. This step is essential to let a parcel of dirty air being forced out from your nasal passage and phlegm being coughed out. Repeat the steps several times a day. Do this every day to ensure your lungs are being washed off from any impurities. This is the only method that you can help your lungs undergoing detoxification.

Apart from this, you are advised to include black fungus in your daily diet. Black fungus contains abundant plant glial cells that perform as a “housekeeper” by clearing out debris, excess and unwanted materials from our lungs, blood vessels, cells, tissues and muscles of our body.

Kidney Detoxification

Kidneys are very important organs in human body as they help to filter out toxins in the blood and waste generated from the decomposition of protein. Then the filtered waste is discharged through urine.

Method

If you feel like you want to urinate, go for it, but do not keep your urine staying too long in your bladder. For your information, our urine is always congested with many harmful toxins, if you do not urinate promptly when you feel you should be, and you try to stand on your urine, then the urine will be reabsorbed into the excretory system. This can be hazardous to our health. It is simple to detoxify toxins in your kidneys. You just replenish the excretory system by drinking appropriate amount of fresh alkaline water. By doing so, you are helping the kidneys to dilute the concentration of toxins to its minimal ratio. This is important to help your kidneys to stimulate the metabolism while eliminating more toxins out of your body. One important thing to take note is that any carbonated or sweetened drinks cannot substitute the alkaline water to furnish your kidneys with appropriate amount of water. The more you replenish your kidneys with any carbonated or sweetened drinks, the more sugar and calorie are absorbed into the kidneys which will later damage or wear out your kidneys. For effective kidneys’ detoxification, I recommend you to replenish your body with a glass of warm sea salt water when you woke up straightaway from the bed.

The other thing to bear in mind is that you should include cucumbers or kyuri (Japanese cucumbers) and cherries in your daily diet to help your kidneys to accelerate the detoxification process. It is always recommended to go for organic cucumbers or cherries but if you could not afford, then just go for the normal cucumbers or cherries. They will do the job as well even though its effectiveness is not as good as the organic one. This is because the non-organic cucumbers or cherries might have the residuals of pesticide and chemical fertilizers.

An Intestinal Detoxification

When the food remnants are fermented by the bacteria, they will turn bad and spoil to form into feces. This process will produce a chemical substance called indole which is an extremely dangerous substance to keep in your body. The indole plus any toxicological substances originated from our food consumptions and breathing could pile-up substantial amount of toxins in our body if they are not eliminated promptly. Besides that the previous feces that are not properly being pooped out will attach firmly to the wall of your intestine. The accumulation of feces in your intestinal tract is hazardous as they will produce very toxicological substances such as hydrogen sulfide, the smelly manure, and indomethacin that will poison your intestine. Imagine that three or four feces with 6cm each in length are equivalent to the harmful substances from 10 cigarettes you smoked! How dangerous are your feces! Therefore, you should poop properly everyday and make sure your bowel functions smoothly to avoid the chances of getting diseases. To know more about the feces, read my article here.

Method

The intestinal detoxification can be done by flushing your body with water. When you get up from the bed in the early morning, remember to replenish your body with at least 200ml warm alkaline water. After replenishing your body with some water, try to move around in your park, backyard or any places that are free from heavily polluted air. By doing this, you are helping your intestine to get washing off the toxins. This will aid in a smooth bowel action. Besides doing this, you should shift from artificial foods to non-artificial foods. Fresh organic fruits such as pineapple, kiwi, papaya, and guava are natural foods that help cleansing your intestine. The lack of peristalsis (moving action) of intestine is the main cause why you are facing the constipation, and thus you should include fiber-rich vegetables and fruits in your daily diet. Foods that are rich in fibers are unpolished brown rice, kiwi, oatmeal, pumpkin, and banana, to be named a few examples for your reference. Feeding your intestine with these vegetables and fruits are vital to promote intestinal peristalsis to get you away from the annoyance of constipation.

A Liver’s Detoxification

A liver is the body’s largest detoxification organ. All kinds of toxins will undergo a series of chemical reactions in the liver to be converted into a toxic-free or lower toxic substances.

Method

Physical exercises are good measures to detoxify a liver. That means a physical exercise is the top thing to do to help exerting pressure on the liver in order to improve the state of tension within the muscles and adjacent cells joining to form the liver. The physical exercise has such a strong effect to stimulate a good function of the overall blood circulatory system, which will later accelerate detoxification to be taken place in the liver.

Besides the exercise, you should include bitter gourd in your diet. Though a bitter gourd has a bitter taste that is hard to stand for, it is indeed an extremely good foodstuff to promote the detoxification in the liver. This is because a bitter gourd has a type of rarely found protein in other foodstuffs. This protein is clinically proven to boost up the immune cells’ activity to their maximal level, and at the same time it functions as a vacuum cleaner to sweep off toxic substances from our body.

Skin Detoxification

Besides a liver that I mentioned earlier, human skin is also the other largest detoxification organ. The sweat gland and the sebaceous gland within the skin get rid of the toxins through sweating.

Method

You should do an aerobic exercise to promote sweating at least once a week. If possibly, go for a sauna, a natural spa, a steam bath or a medicated warm bath at least once a week. The bath helps to accelerate the metabolism, promote the blood circulation and the most important thing here is that it helps washing off toxins from your body through sweating. Prior to the bath, you should always replenish your body with a glass of alkaline water to help speeding up the detoxification process. Similarly, you should furnish your body with an appropriate amount of alkaline water after the bath to help eliminating any toxins that might have remained beneath the layer of your skins, armpits or muscles.

  11. Thank you for using natural foods in your suggestion and not fad detox products. This is all very helpful. I have been drinking tart cherry juice and upping my antioxidant intake, but I never knew cucumbers were good for kidney detoxification. I suffer from kidney stones occasionally and am hoping that with drinking more water and taking in more fruits and vegetables I can ward them off.
