How to Get 10 Hours Sleep in Two Hours

Sleep is a process that involves science.

It’s Monday again and you had party on Sunday night. You wake up with your body still asking for rest. That is very usual, as you managed to become star of the party and had so busy time that you almost forgot that next day you have an important meeting in office. Now you really regret about sleeping too late and curse yourself for being irresponsible.

The other day you almost slept for 10 hours and still you feel tired with your head heavy and body stiff.

What’s the matter?

In many articles on Internet and famous books it is recommended to sleep for 8-10 hours and you are doing that right on most of the days and still you think it’s not enough.

Is this a problem of some unusual symptoms of any disease? Or is this because after all that hard work you go through your day you keep on dreaming about them in your sleep degrading the quality of your sleep?

Scientists and many philosophers have tried to understand this sleep patterns and came up with many theories. While philosophers have mostly stressed on meditation and stages where thoughts in your brain are null scientists had tried to estimate rules for a quality sleep for resting body.

But here is something new emerging in science and worth trying. It’s about sleep patterns and different levels in sleep. Sleep is a process, which follows a cycle.

Level 1- Feeling drowsy.

Level 2- Brain trying to switch off.

Level 3- Brain switch off (actual deep sleep).

Level 4- Brain switch off continues.

Our sleep process goes through all these levels multiple times. But here are few things to note:

  • 3 & 4 level is where you go to actual sleep, and for a quality sleep it matters about how much amount of deep sleep you had.
  • As you progress towards your sleep Brain switch off level duration keeps on dropping.

So now, imagine that you have been sleeping for 8 hours and while you are in 3rd level of your sleep you are disturbed by some sound. This is where the catch is. If you wake up getting disturbed in these levels your body is likely to complain about not getting enough sleep.

So, how to get a quality sleep in less time?

Try to monitor your sleep patterns and timings. If you are able to know and find out the exact amount of time for your body to get into deep sleep and recover to first level you can manage to fool your body and still wake up having complete sleep.

This may work in different intervals for different individual and so one has to go for trial and error method and find out for him or herself.

Finally, having told you about all these suggestions and information, I am not a doctor or any person associated to medical field. Whatever information I have been able to put here is based on my knowledge, which I have gathered from different source of books, articles and people. I have implemented and tested these tricks on myself and it has been working for me and that success has prompted me to put those points here.
