Do you suffer from motion sickness? Then try out these tips.
Most people get motion sickness. Some easier than others. But you can help yourself when you get sick, and even prevent getting sick. Read some of these tips to help you with this annoying issue.
First of all, find out what causes you to get sick (besides the actual motion). For most people, reading, or playing video games in the car will aid in your motion sickness. Sometimes even just thinking about motion sickness will cause it. Once you know what causes it, then just refrain from doing that.
Now if you actually do get sick, then there are some things you can do to cure it. One way is to simply fall asleep. There is no way you will feel sick if you are asleep. Another way is to look out the front window. Never look through the side windows. Doing so will make you even more sick, as you are just reminding yourself that you are moving. One of the best, and my favorite, way is to eat. You may feel worse when you try to eat in the car, but just force it down, or stop to eat. Believe me, once you have a full stomach, motion sickness will be the least of your worries. But remember to eat something you really like. Nasty foods WILL cause you to leave a mess (if you know what I mean).
There is a nice trick that works very well to get rid of your motion sickness temporarily. Simply place your thumb on the underside of your wrist, and your index finger on the top side. Then squeeze. If you do not feel a lot of pressure, then your thumb isn’t in the right place. So simply move your thumb around until you find it. Everyone’s is in a different place, but it is generally in the middle of the two most visible veins.
The most important thing to do is to get your mind off of it. Do something that will keep you busy. But not something that will trigger your motion sickness; such as reading. Intense thinking works very well, but talking to someone works even better.
