Our personal wellness play or lack of can add years to our lives and improve the quality of our lives, nevertheless many still don’t feel impelled to make fitness optimization a lifelong goal.

We are all given the gift of life.  Why not make the most of it?  Who wants an extra cold? A flu? How about pneumonia?  Does anyone want to loose time off from work to be sick, or go home and feel more and more like a coach potato each year?  Most don’t have any idea how expensive it is to neglect their health and waves of increasingly antibiotic resistant diseases are expect. The waves have started.

Is there anything we can do and how much will it cost if we don’t?

There is no guarantee that any wellness plan will actually offer any improvement and the typical person is expected to loose more than any nest egg of money that they’ve saved up, seeing it as a small fortune.  Those without medical insurance face even worse fates.  Now, that may sound pretty bleak and pessamistic.

Although I said there is not guarantee, our wellness plan and the environment we create and live in affects our well being.  A lot can be done.  Be a lifelong student and find out what you can do to avoid the worst sorts of troubles that you might encounter.  Heart Disease is the number one killer and most of the causes except genetics are totally controllable and even most inherited diseases are said to be curable through nutritional healing.  Ph balance shows as a vital factor for many typical major troubles like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure.  Many can vouch that probiotics helped them get over ailments where nothing else seemed to work.  These are just a few examples of how much we can do.

Why is it that we can find such information in any ordinary library and bookstore, but it’s just not common knowledge yet?

It’s not but many are benefiting tremendously in the meantime.  There are books on our challenges, and how to find our challenges.  We can ask for tests and read about what the results mean. No one has to give us permission and plenty of Ph.D.’s with proven track records respecting preventative medicine even recommend such evaluations.  We can even have our DNA analyzed to see if we have any high risk factors for acquiring ailments.

Cross reference everything.  While some doctors say some things are impossible to cure, or impossible unless we use a procedure, others disagree. Who’s right?  The doctors won’t have time to sit down and read hours of medical research to us, but we can and then, ask questions about spefic things when we need to. Getting second opinions can also show us who to choose as our regular practitioner.  It’s not like some are the good doctors and some are the bad doctors, as I won’t touch on malpractice, but they come from different study backgrounds and have opinions that reflect what they’ve learned from experience.  Just getting one opinion, though is sort of like putting on a blind fold on the doctor  to touch an elephant.  He’ll answer very precisely.  If we do the same with others, they will also be totally correct. They are not fools and are all evidently highly competant, but the unknown is like the elephant that none of them can see.

We’re like the mysterious pink elephant that’s somewhat unpredictable to evaluate.  Studying how to be ourselves best, is a compliment to everything I do in my life.  Be your best 24/7.  Then, when others need you and you need yourself, you’re as ready as ever.
