Keeping Lips Plump and Kissable

Keep your lips plump and kissable by taking care of them. They are, after all, one of your best and most attractive assets.

If you want luscious kissable lips you need to take special care of them. Simply smearing with lip balm won’t do the trick. To get your lips noticed and make them irresistible you need to follow a lip care routine but this doesn’t have to be expensive. There is no need to spend your hard earned money on cosmetic products to plump up your lips.

First of all do the simple things. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables and concentrate on foods containing vitamin E but it protects cell membranes and stop them losing water and oxygen so quickly. This includes nuts, wheat germ, olives, oils like sunflower oil, and oily fish.

Chapped lips affect both men and women. A man’s lips look much more kissable if they are smooth and plump. So this advice is for them too.

Apply lip balm, or a little creamy lipstick when going outside to protect your lips from the weather. Wind, cold and heat can all cause your lips to dry out and crack and a cracked dry pair of lips doesn’t exactly look kissable.

Exfoliate your lips on a regular basis. This gets rid of all the dead skin and increases the blood flow which plumps your lips up a bit. You can buy special kit to do this with, or use your toothbrush to gently brush the dead skin away and increase the blood flow after you have cleaned your teeth. Use hot water and don’t use the brush too roughly.

Toothpaste and mouthwash can dry the lips out and causing chapping in some people. Always wash this off your lips and pat them dry, without rubbing the skin.

Always apply a good layer of lip balm, or Vaseline, to your lips at night. You will see an appreciable difference in the morning.

Don’t forget to use a sunscreen on your lips. This is one of the first areas to dry out and burn. Some lipsticks have a built in sunscreen and moisturiser. Nivea do a stick that hydrates lips while you are in the sun, or during flying. A one hour flight in a plane can seriously dehydrate your skin, especially your lips.

Make sure you drink plenty of water. This, of course, is advice we hear all the time and it is essential to general health, not just to lips.

Lack of vitamin B complex can cause really bad scaling of the lips. This is a whole group of B vitamins found in bananas, potatoes, chilli peppers, yeast, turkey, tuna fish, Vegemite, Marmite (and other foods.)

Whoever would have thought that a Vegemite sandwich, or a banana could make you lips more kissable? Now that you have plump, kissable lips, you might like to learn some new ways to kiss.
