Meat Eaters Vs. Vegetarians

What is the difference? Please check out my web page www.freedomofwords.com.

What is the difference between a vegetarian and a meat eater? There are some drastic differences between the two. First a meat eater has a fifty percent higher chance of dying of a heart attack or stroke. Vegetarians also have half the risk of getting cancer compared to meat eaters. In a recent test scientists found that there is more bacteria on a piece of store bought chicken then on a toilet seat. The major difference is animals have much shorter intestines than humans do. Because of this a animal is able to burn out what it eats much faster than a human why is that? A human has a much longer intestine so everything we eat stays in our bodies longer.

Because of that when you eat a steak it sits in your body and rots. Meat sits in your intestines for seven years.

I have been a vegetarian for seven years and I probably still have meat in my body. Iam not vegetarian because Iam a animal activist. Iam a vegetarian because of the crap they are injecting into our food supply. Everyone just wants to ignore all the recalls recently on beef. Ask yourself how many recalls have there been on beef in the past year. Http://www.freedomofwords.com

  1. Sounds great but I get confused when you wrote this “Iam not vegetarian because Iam a animal activist. Iam a vegetarian because of the crap they are injecting into our food supply.”

  2. I am making a large attempt to become a vegan. It is very hard & I know there are different degrees of vegetarians – but I feel like if I am going to become one its all or nothing.

  3. I just had the best steak last night. What are your sources on the heart attack and stroke numbers?
I’m not necessarily denying that it’s true, I just want to know where you are getting your information. Yea, that’s why a person doesn’t eat raw chicken. The cooking takes out the bacteria.

  4. In actually fact, meat eaters aren’t always unhealthy. As long as you stick with lean meat and poultry and don’t deep fry it, it’s actually incredibly healthy. You can’t equate someone who eats a lot of lean meat (such as a bodybuilder) with someone who eats a lot of PROCESSED meat (such as a fan of Maccy D’s) and call them the same because they’re completely different.

And as for meat sitting inside your intestine rotting for seven years, that IS a lot of bs. I’ll try to find some links later (now on my way to the gym lol), but in general eating a diet high in processed foods will cause food to sit inside your intestines, not one high in meat. :)

  5. I have just become a vegetarian for health benefits. Many of my co-workers have become spiteful of my food intake. As you can read, all the meat eaters who have answered to this site have answered very negatively. It really pisses me off when people have a hate or is it envy to us vegetarians. To all meat eaters if you are so happy with yourselves, then why do you make it a big deal for us to choose to not eat meat? It is my choice to eat what I want and if you do not like it well too bad. Anyway, you are what you eat, right? (DEAD MEAT)

  6. I totally agree with what you are saying. My girlfriend and I are both vegans and we have less health problems than our family’s. The reason i became vegetarian is because of the stuff they put into the meat when they process it. I’d rather not put that stuff into my body. But on the other hand my girlfriend became a vegetarian because of the animal cruelty when they slaughter them. we both believe that they should not be slaughtered because animals have feelings too. They might not be the feelings we feel but they have a nervous system and they can still feel what happens to them. Therefore that is why I agree with what you are saying and the message you are trying to convey.

  7. I don’t understand how post #5 or J, could say that meat-eaters are are making a big deal about the current vegetarian and vegan fad. Hey J, ever heard of PETA, or HSUS, or VRG. Well if you haven’t than I’ll educate you; they are all vegan and vegetarian activist groups, or groups of people that are so bored that they devote their lives to trying to stop people from eating what they want. The only negative post I see is yours so try again. Let’s see how many meat-eating activist groups you can name.

  8. Thanks for info, great advice. I recently became a vegetarian after hearing and seeing for myself how abusive and unhealthy it is.

  9. in response to J I’m a not a vegan. as for meat eaters hating you, it the person not his diet. i have a coworker who is a vegan. and he does not like me for my diet. don’t judge all by the actions of one.

  10. OMG, it stays in your body for 7 years?! HAHAHAHAHA!! How much crap can you vegetarians come up with?! lol

If you’ll excuse me now, I’m going to go eat a big, juicy steak for lunch. :)

  11. Apart from moral reasons (which makes us no diff from animals for wanting to eat the flesh of another animal only to satisfy our tastebuds despite healthier options) it is plain insanity to want to eat meat. It is more of a habit than it is about taste. There are so many tasty alternatives vegetarian options you can use as a substitute for meat. But it is more of a mental block than it is about anything else. As humans if we cannot display self control and have mind over body, then how can we claim to be any different from animals? For every benefit that meat offers there is an equally healthy veg alternative, so how can you NOT want to try it? Are you not able to satisfy your urge to eat meat when there is a bird-flu or mad cow disease? Tell yourself that when you feel like going for a meat alternative.

I’ve had a lotta ppl argue with me about trees/plants having life too(which they do) and how it is bad to kill them for food (which is such a lame argument for plant vs meat) but then plants can re-generate, can animals? can you? It is so sad to see how so many of your everyday products use animal derivatives, worse by harming or hurting them. How can anyone with blood flowing in their body not feel for a Musk Deer, yes the musk is derived by whipping the genitals of a musk deer, does that make you want to use it?

Human being are creatures of habit. It is the easiest for us to control our senses and mind and not let our body control us. I think we are not cannibals just bec we live in a society where a law governs us and says it is wrong to kill humans, if not how different are animals? Do they not bleed? Do they not have feelings? Are they not intelligent? It makes me feel so stupid to talk to educated people about not eating meat when all the facts about being vegetarian are so popular and so beneficial. But then education does not guarantee common sense so it becomes important to give people a billion reasons to turn vegetarian when all you need is ONE!
Thanks guy for your moral support and yes animals deserve to live!

  12. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Meat stays in your intestines for 7 YEARS? You’d be DEAD! How much crap can you people come up with?!

  13. Apart from moral reasons it is plain insanity not to eat meat. It is more of a phobia than it is about taste. There are so many tasty alternative meat options you can use as substitutes for vegetables. But it’s more of a mental block than anything else. As humans if we cannot overcome our own preconceptions and eat healthy food which is good for us, then how can we claim to be any different from animals? For every benefit that vegetables offer there is an equally healthy meat alternative, so how can you NOT want to try it? Aren’t you worried about aphids, crop infestations, and root rot?

Apparently plants can regenerate, so that’s more acceptable than eating animals. Well, actually, animals can ‘regenerate’ too (in exactly the same way that plants do) by an ancient technique known as reproduction.

Can’t you see how every argument you make for vegetarianism could also be used in favour of a meat-based diet? The simple fact is that we are biologically set up to eat both vegetables AND meat, but there are ways of avoiding meat if you wish to do so. If you do wish to do so, that’s fine: but making a choice about your own lifestyle does not and can never give you the right to tell other people how to live. As a very simplistic example, I live in the UK where the gun laws are much tighter than they are in the US, but I don’t have the right to tell a US citizen that they can’t bear arms (and they, equally, don’t have the right to tell me that I should). There’s nothing ethically or morally wrong about eating animals (and don’t even begin to pretend that there is: any argument would have to get around the impossibility of distinguishing between levels of life by allowing for plant eating), so it is simply a personal decision. Make your own decision and allow other people to make theirs.

  15. yeh but i think vegetarians r taking it wayyy to far

  16. meat is part of our everyday life so it doesnt matter if we eat meat or not we all need iron intake or a suppliment if we dont it leads to kidney faliure and pooor health.

  17. watch the documentary “earthlings” ………end of story….. for all of you fat gluttonous meat eating waste of skin

  18. I know no body has posted to this for a long time…I just want to say this. I have been vegetarian since August 25th, 2009 and its about one week now…and already in one week my digestion has DRASTICALLY improved. Anyone ever wonder why you have diarrhea after you eat high-fatty animal foods why you sometimes have urgent bathroom breaks? Its not meant to be eaten….Look at our youth today who are developing MUCH sooner than my generation, due to hormones in our food!!!! Milk is enemy’s of many people those sensitive to lactose!!! Wonder why? Its not meant for us!…Fish???? Oh yeah its supposed to be healthy right??? Well think again! Many fish contain toxins like mercury, cadmium and lead, some of which can triple the normal level after just one serving for a short period of time! These are just some facts I have learned in just the past little while…If you’re thinking about becoming veg (in any form!)….go for it. Yes, people will think you are crazy…yes, they poke fun, and yes it is an inconvenience especially when you go out to eat….but we are so accustomed as a society to having everything immediately for instant gratification….take the time…save a life. My personal affirmation is:
“I will NOT eat anything that had a face….I will not eat anything that stops a beating heart!”

  19. I wouldn’t do good on a vegitarian diet, i only like about 5 different vegetables and most with butter and they use milk to make that (i’m thinking thats out of a vegetarian diet although i dont know why nothing died to get milk) and breads and pasta would give me a carb overload… guess i gotta keep some meats in the diet. although its a nice thought to be healthier just cant stand tofu. If anyone can suggest something that tastes better then tofu but has the protien that the vegetarian diet lacks I am open minded and will try it. As for vegetarians that hate me for being a meat eater, well I don’t hate you for being a vegetarian maybe eating meat helps me emotionally enough to not hate someone for thier personal choices.

  20. You know that cow I just ate for dinner? It was a Vegetarian and looked what happened to it…just sayin.

  21. You know that cow I just ate for dinner? It was a Vegetarian and looked what happened to it…just sayin.

  22. I seriously doubt meat stays in your gut for 7 years. In fact, that’s a load of crap. I’m 17 and I’ve been eating meat (As well as a diet of fruit, veggies, the processed chemicals in take-out and all of that good stuff) for as long as I remember, and I’m pretty sure that I’d know by now if something had stayed in my stomach that long – for the simple fact that if a hunk of meat had stayed in my for that long it would have decayed and caused me a serious illness. As a matter of fact, I haven’t thrown up or had diarrhea since I was 14 (Which rotten meat certianly would have induced – if it had decayed in my intestine.)

And in response to Jessica – What gave you the impression that ALL animals who are slaughtered for meat are done so cruely? Sure, sucks to be a musk deer, and yes, there have been hundreds of cases of horrid slaughterhouses all around the world, but you can’t judge all of them by those few examples.
In Australia (I am Australian and I don’t know any other country’s laws, sorry) there are rules and regulations that must be considered when building a slaughterhouse, and these rules go on for 14 pages. And the actual law for killing the animals is also very strict – the animals are stunned (I’ve been stunned by accident before, and it only hurts when you wake up) and then they are killed.

  23. meat is the best yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh MEAT

  24. vegies are gay lol

  25. I just started being a vegetarian about 4 months ago and it’s not all that. I don’t know why they think it’s so great because it’s not at all. You don’t get enough vitamins, you lose weight and look like a skeleton, you don’t feel full, etc. It makes you puke sometimes because the food tastes fake and the Turkey burgers are disgusting. It tastes so artifical!! eww! how can you vegelovers like that stuff?!! :( meat fills you up and it tastes good with the right blends of stuff. That’s why I’m going back to being one again. I’m tired of that stupid VEGAN bs.! That sux.

  26. Meatloverz have the best foodz..MMMMMM…YUMMY, JUICY STEAK from Applebee\’s..:D i bet u wish u could have sum.? well too bad, go eat sum TOFU..ew that stuff iz sooooo nasty..have fun puking..LMAO

  27. yall just need to shut up. if you want to be a vegetarian thats YOUR choice! if you like that meattt eat it!

  28. i totaly awesome

  29. Jessica, I agree 100% with everything you say… It really bothers me how insensitive people are but unfortunately there is nothing we can do about anybody’s karma… They will pay for it though…

  30. And it is NOT a matter of personal choice. Its murder!

  31. There is no point in arguing with meat eaters. They are ignorant of the facts. Yes they can have their OPINIONS but unless they actually try (and stick to) a vegetarian diet for at least a year, they really have no clue of the benefits of cutting meat.

I didn’t see anyone mention that vegetarianism is a way to reverse the effects of diabetes and heart disease.

I think most meat eaters are just set in there way, all there lives they eat meat and they are told it’s good for them. Sure lean meats can be better for you, but they are still pumped with chemicals, or fed garbage that gets to you, and yes, it does rot in your stomach. I’m not sure if it is seven years but I know it takes at least a week.

To Ema82: people who are new to vegetarianism often don’t realize the way they are changing there food intake. You think you can cut out meat and live off everything you used to have with meat and not replace it. That is the reason of your complaints. Just because you aren’t able to create a balanced diet it doesn’t mean no one can.

I guess this post is more out of annoyance. Like I said meat-eaters are ignorant because they really do not know.

So to all the veggies out there like me, try to keep your cool when meat-eaters try to push there views on you. Once they die of a meat indulged illness, we can dance on there grave! (and then plant a nice veggie garden over top) :)

  32. OK. WOW. Seriously some of you people really need to get a life. Yes meat is healthy. Maybe not to an excess, or fried. However, if you want to complain about commercial meat being processed and stuff, then try deer meat. Or any wild game for that matter. My family has lived on nothing pretty well other than wild unprocessed game for as long as i can remember. Wild animals dont get fed that fake crap. So you know what, all you vegans and animal rights freaks, can kiss my country, eat-all-wild-game ass!!!!

  33. Yeah ok you guys, some meat is good so is bad, im a meat eater but i believe in vegerarianism, it works, u guys just dont like it because your so used to meat, if u had started off with no meat, u wouldnt like meat at all

  34. Why does everybody here seem to think EVERYBODY should believe what they do? Meat eaters are like ITS SO WRONG TO BE VEGGIE! and veggies are like ITS SO WRONG TO EAT MEAT!
are we not all aloud our own opinion?
i am a vegetarian but, other people can eat what they want!
&neither is really healthier if you eat a balanced diet.
vegetarians are healthier than meat eaters if the meat eater is eating junk and fried food, but a vegetarian living off junk food and pasta is just as unhealthy.
either diet can be healthy if you are eating the right things.

  35. The original post/article/comment is hilarious! I really did laugh out loud – and I’m not even a vegetablearian!!

“Meat sits in your intestines for seven years.” I came here looking for actual information, not this kind of idiotic misinformation.

“…there is more bacteria on a piece of store bought chicken then on a toilet seat.” That’s the part that made me LOL. (This statement needs a few exclamation points, because it’s clearly GROUNDBREAKING NEWS!!!)

I am going to become a vegetarian, because I think it’s a better idea for me, and the environment. But I’d be happier if there were less foolishness associated with the whole concept.

  36. Seems to me, from the comments, the vegetarians get upset because killing animals is wrong and people should be veggies to be healthier.

The meat eaters get upset because they don’t like change and being told what to do..

Personally, I’m going to believe the vegetarians over the meat eaters because they are actually the ones doing it so know more. I agree with the post Leah made, meat eaters can say all they want but if they haven’t had a vegetarian diet how would they know?

and to the guy above, meat does rot in your stomach, its the only way your body can break it down to digest it.

Why is everyone so angry? It’s just an article.
