Six Very Common Food Allergies

Here is a list of the six very common food allergies found in children and adults.

Not everyone has the luck to enjoy a good variety of foods even if there is no shortage of money. Even the poorest sections sometimes enjoy those foods which the wealthiest of the wealthiest and their children cannot. What is the reason behind it you would ask. The answer is Food Allergies! Such allergic people get rashes or even severe diseases after consuming the food they are allergic to. Here I have listed six very common food allergies found in children as well as grownups..

  • Cow’s milk allergy. The Cow’s milk protein allergy is normally seen in infants and children. It is seen if the family has a history of this kind of allergy. Sometimes even without the family history the allergy can be seen in children. This can be anything like vomiting and digestive problems and even diarrhoea sometimes. The intensity of the allergy differs from person to person and may not be same for everyone. This allergy is seen prevalent mostly in the developed world. But, fortunately, this allergy is short lived and rarely continues till adulthood.
  • Eggs allergy. Mostly outgrown by the age of five, allergy from eggs is the most commonly found allergy among small children. Although sometimes it remains in the adulthood never letting to enjoy egg delicacies for them.
  • Peanuts allergy. The Peanut allergy is common in both adults and infant’s groups. This type of allergy can be extremely fatal and in very rare cases can cause to death. Very few children outgrow this allergy. The patient in this case has to always carry adrenaline with him all the time, the reason being to counter the reactions of allergy.
  • Tree nuts allergy. The allergic effect of tree nuts can cause serious adversaries. Mostly seen in children than adults, tree nut(for example Walnut) allergies can cause death in rare cases.
  • Wheat allergy. You eat bread made up of wheat very religiously, but there are some adults who cannot eat them because they have got wheat allergy. Gluten is present in wheat and when ingested by the allergic, the small intestine is attacked. Many children also suffer from wheat allergies.
  • Fish allergy. The fish allergy, which is rarely seen in children but mostly seen among the adults and is very common. Once the children grow to a certain age, only then can they make out after consuming fish, whether they are allergic to fish or not.  Fish allergies can be  dangerous and a threat to life.

The only way to save such allergic people from their allergies is by keeping them away from those foods, which they are sensitive to and find nutritional alternatives to them to let them live a better and happy life.

  1. I have a wheat and diary intollerance and suffer from IBS. Often this is caused by anxiety. Wheat can also cause depression in some people.
