The Dangers of Using Tanning Salons
Why teens especially shouldn’t use tanning salons.
Ladies and Gentlemen I know winter is coming and that fabulous tan you worked so hard is beginning to fade. I bet you already have your tanning bed appointment set, right? Well cancel it! Especially if your under the age of 18 and over the age of 50. Tanning beds seem like such a good idea, they help keep you bronze and beach bound all year long. But people are you crazy? I mean the sun alone is bad for your skin, that tan you love so much is actually cooked flesh, and you’re prancing around showing it off….Hmmm…
Okay yes the sun does provide us with the much needed vitamin D but you only need about 20 minutes of sun a day for that and it doesn’t even have to be direct sunlight. Using tanning beds are harm ful, the levels of ultraviolet rays can be very dangerous. Many young people are exposing them selves to ultraviolet radiation sometimes once or twice a week. These rays can cause skin cancer, accelerate your aging process leaving you dark and tanned along with some wrinkled saggy skin. Oh yes please can I go get a tan….
Listen I’m not saying you should never go to a tanning salon, in some cases it’s actually recommended, like in cases of severe eczema, and still once a month is plenty. Keep your skin protected from the sun and the artificial rays from tanning beds, don’t over expose your skin, and remember your putting your health at risk. It has been suggested and in some cases incorporated by tanning salons, which is you must be 18 yrs to get a tan or 16 with adult permission. This is s great idea our children bodies aren’t even fully developed yet and were allowing them to cook their skin, fry their hair and bleach their teeth. It’s time to get back to healthy natural living, using intelligence and responsibility.
Live happy and keep healthy.
