The Health Benefits of Celery
Celery is a great plant that benefits our health. Its nutritional and medicinal values contain in its whole plant starting from its leaves, stalks till its roots. It is a great natural remedy to reduce the level of blood pressure and lipids without any side effects as compare to medication.
Fresh organic celery is crispy, tender and juicy. It is not only the great addition to home dishes but it also possesses pharmacological effects. The medical world has admitted its effectiveness in reducing the blood pressure and lipids.
People usually use its stalk but throw its leaves and roots away. In fact, as an ideal meal for cardiovascular disease patients, it is better to use the whole plant of celery which includes its roots, stalks, and leaves.
The mixed juices of organic celery and green apple is a good recipe to reduce blood pressure. Besides reducing blood pressure, this recipe is also good for dizziness, headache, reddish face, diuresis (urine excretion) and high blood pressure (hypertension) patients.
Ingredients:
- 250 g fresh organic celery
- One to two organic fresh green apples
Method:
- Place the celery into the boiling water for approximately 2 minutes
- Shred the celery and apples into small pieces
- Blend both the celery and apples for juices
For hypertensive patients, it is recommended to drink a cup each time with two servings a day. Avoid taking large doses as it will further lower down the blood pressure and causes an extreme dizziness, fatigue and sleepy due to relatively low level of blood pressure. As for normal people, it is better to take this recipe once or twice a month to benefit health. Though you may use the normal celery but organic one is more ideal as it is free from any chemical and pesticide compounds. It is awful to dump the chemical and pesticide foodstuffs into your body as it may cause cancer besides weakening the immune system. This will then causes human body more vulnerable to diseases.

I found that as a 58 year old male, the strength of my stream had diminished substantially. I started eating a lot of celery in my daily soup (using between 1 and 2 celery bunches a week) and found that my stream became very strong. Even if this were the only benefit of celery, I should continue to eat this vegetable on a daily basis for the rest of my life.
