Three Unusual Tips About You

Three tips to help you in your everyday life, that are quite strange. If not helpful, this article is at least interesting.

There are many things we do every day to cope with the – sometimes weird – occurances

that happen to our body. Most of the time, what we do frankly doesn’t work. Here are

a few tips to make your every-day life easier.

  1. Throat Tickles

Has your throat ever tickled? Ever had a cough that you can’t get rid of? Well, instead

of choking on your own tongue trying to get rid of that tickle, try this: scratch your ear.

Sounds odd? Trust me, it works: “When the nerves in the ear are stimulated, it creates a

reflex in the throat that can cause a muscle spasm,” states Scott Schaffer, M.D., “This

    spasm relieves the tickle.”

  2. Stuffy Nose?

Everyone’s had a stuffy nose, you know, to the point where you have to breathe through your

mouth or through just one nostril. Instead of heading to the store to buy medicine, try this:

Thrust your tongue against the roof of your mouth, then press between your eyebrows with one

finger. This causes the vomer bone to rock back and forth, which loosens congestion after about

    20 seconds. Stuffy nose, begone!

  3. Have a Toothache?

If you need quick relief from a toothache, try this: rub ice on the back of your hand, on the V-shaped

webbed area between your thumb and index finger. Apparently, this reduced toothache pain quite a bit,

because the nerve pathways at the base of that V-shaped area stimulate a part of the brain pain signals

from the face and hands. Interesting stuff.
