Tooth Ache

When i was growing up i was always pretty lucky i went to the dentist got my cleanings and had no problems with my teeth, I had heard of the pain that people had with at tooth ache, but i had no idea what that ment at all.

As i got older i started needing more and more work done to my mouth, I need root canals, pulling, cleanings and special mouth washes. Well that was all OK i had discomfort not pain yet.

I really didn’t like the dentist i didn’t like the shots in my mouth, I thought i would have a panic attach when i seen the aid bring in tray with all the tools the dentist had to use , I remember one time i had to go to a different dentist because my old one had retired, I was so scared my heart started beating so hard fear of my dentist had started that day.

They all said take care of your teeth because teeth can really cause you alot of problems, I still didn’t know what they really ment when they told me that. I just figured that it was something a doctor had to say. At that point i had been going to the doctor every six months i kept on top of my teeth and well i really never had many problem, BUT just wait i stopped going to the dentist I felt it was a wast of my time.

Many years had went by since i had seen a dentist , One day i was eating and i think it was some ice cream and Wow my tooth started hurting. I took something for pain seam to go away night time hit and wow the pain i got was unbelievable,, Pain was shooting from my mouth into the side of my head. I could not eat or drink nothing i was taking was helping me , It was on a Saturday nite I walked the floor. There was no dentist open now.

The pain took me to my knees crying i was holding my head and my mouth all at the same time rocking back and forth in pain what should i do Sunday morning came and i rushed to the emergency room , I really felt they would do something for me i was in pain alot of pain, they say in big letters the most important first seen at the er. I must not of been very important it took about 3hours of the most unbelievable pain i have ever felt in my life.

I finally got to see the doctor it only took him 5 minutes to tell me we don’t pull teeth here you have a infection in your tooth he gave me some antibiotics and some pain med and he also told me that when a tooth is infected that the infection gos through the hold body not just the mouth and that your teeth can really cause alot of different problems in the body and he told how important it was to really take care of my teeth , I went home took my med the pain med helped some with the pain and the antibiotics well it would be a few days before i seen any improvement from that.

Monday morning i was in the phone book and on the phone trying to find a dentist to help me most said they didn’t have any opens i looked and called for hours till i found one who said come right in.. I went there the dentist said we need to pull that tooth .. And well more pain from the needle .. But he pulled the tooth and the pain was gone.. I Will always go to the dentist now.
