A tribute to Military Orthopedic Surgeon, and Lifelong friend, Dr. R. Stefko, A true genius of the medical field.
Dr. Raymond Stefko, Military Orthopedic Surgeon (Ret.) is one of the most innovative and resourceful medical practitioners in his field. The man I must say is a genius, not to mention he is not just a physician but my friend.
Throughout his career, he treated all that came to his office with compassion.
To Dr. Stefko, the patient always came first, because more than just patients, he respected us as people.
This essay is written to thank him for all that he did for me.
Surgery after grueling surgery, Dr. Stefko was always there, supervising,assisting and watching out for my well being. Though we may not have achieved perfection(understandable as we are still human) and though I do still walk with a slight limp, all the surgeries and follow-up appointments were worth it.
Dr. Stefko, throughout his career never ceased to amaze me with his medical engenuity.
He used the gifts God imparted to him very well, and for that I am eternally grateful.
Since I have so many readers throughout the country and the world, I’d like to make a request.

Dr Stefko was my son’s doctor and performed his open reduction hip surgery when he was just 13 mos old. He was wonderful! He would listen to me and would answer my questions without making me feel like an idiot. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Stefko and his work. My son’s hip is doing great! Thank you so much Dr. Stefko!!
